Hello all I am planning to app for this soon.
A few things:
1. What card would you recommend
2. What credit score do you suggest when applying
3. What report do they use?

Whatever you like the most (that fits your spend) I would not recommend Flagship as your first card.
2. What credit score do you suggest when applying
Have seen FICO 580 approved. The higher the better!
3. What report do they use?
They usualy pull TU (Transunion) for New applications and then Equifax for Limit Increase requests

You may also read and ask here;
If this is your first card with them, choose your second or third pick as it will grow slow. The one you really want should be your 2nd as that will be the big approval.
Pretty much what everyone else has said, I've seen an approval with a 550 score... it wasn't a big one but it was an approval none the less. I'm partial to the More Rewards Amex, it sees pretty frequent use. I have it (my first card) and the Flagship. I travel extensively for work and like to stay at Airbnb's so both cards work very well for me in that respect. It's all about what fits your spend/lifestyle too. As long as your debt is under control Navy can be very generous with your first card and definitely with a second card. Whatever you decide let us know!
Can't tell you the card....that's something you need to decide based on what you will be using and needing the card for. Once you figure out what you need and will use it for then you can decide which one fits better. They have cards with very little perks just low APR. They have a card for gas, groceries, etc. And they have a card for trave. Pick which you will mostly use then apply. If you get approved for 1 card you will be approved for all of them except the Flagship. You can product change cards within the first 30 days I believe.
I got the GoRewards 2017 with a 630ish score......about 5 years out of a Chpt 13 BK, joined NFCU maybe 2 weeks before I applied and they gave me a $24K CL. My opinion.......I think income plays a huge part of CL. Why do I say that? Well my Mom applied for NFCU with a retirement pay of about $40K and they gave her $12K. Her scores were in the low 700's. My income is $100K. They do look at scores but I think again my opinion income and DTI plays apart on how much they will give you.
Hope this helps with your scores unless you have new credit you should get a nice approval.

Is there a hard stop on the Flagship being your first? I'm more interested in the Flagship than the others as I could gain a lot from it.
(Recently joined Navy. Plan to move assets and banking to them)

I would say no. DM apped for Flagship as first NFCU approved for 25k and lowest interest rate. So I would say if income and scores support then no.
That makes sense
Thanks for the extra read I will take a look.

It would be my first card
I can understand the growing slow part - I would like to have the more rewards and flag down the road however not sure If I should even have that as my first card so I may just do like cash rewards - but again I feel that doing the more rewards would be a better benefit over the long run. What are your thoughts on this method
