A lot of lending decisions at NFCU are made by humans with help from algorithms instead of algorithms written by humans making the decisions like most other FIs. Since recon is rarely successful with them, it’s a good sign it wasn’t auto denied.

I think you should be fine then. Periodically check your account and you may even get a text saying Congratulations you’ve been approved.

It’s never taken more than a few hours for me. My first card was approved less than an hour after the app was submitted (I applied for membership and the credit card over the phone on the same call), second took a few because I did it early in the AM.

They sent me an email with a link to check the status when I applied.

Well that’s a bummer, I’m sorry. Like I said, it’s hit or miss with unpaid collections. 

At least you’re in with NFCU now. Build that relationship and you’ll get a killer card soon enough.
