I am trying to become a member with NFCU my brother different last names is a current member can i join if im not living in the same household.....or can I join under my roommate he also is a member which route should i take or do I not have a chance?????

Ive been app shopping i racked up quite a bit of inquiries in the last few days 7 with Experian  4 with transunion 8 Equifax ... are they sensitive when it comes to inquiries...I also applied to PSECU i had to pay an extra 20.00 to join The Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society to become a member with PSECU but I live in fl do you know what my chances are for approval with them...

As you can tell by my screen name I am new to this my credit file is only 3 months old with a capital one with 300.00 kohls 300.00 amex delta gold 2000.00 discover it 1500.00 im trying to get a few high credit line cards under my belt then ill quit

can someone help with a little guidance

my transunion is 703 experian is 728 and equifax is 645.... all scores are pulled directly from the each site not through a third party so im not sure how accurate they maybe credit karma says 696

What credit Unions would anyone recommend for starting out

thanks in advance

Re: NFCU Eligability

Yes Yes YES join NFCU. I would use your brother as sponsor. All you need is his member # and you can join online. You will get a great cc limit with your scores. Choose the card you want and apply and don't forget Navcheck as well. Request full $15k.

Siblings don't have to live together or have same last names. All you need is his member#

Re: NFCU Eligability

Hi, you should be able to call and apply over the phone and advise them that your brother is your sponsor and give them his name and access #. It took me about 5 minutes and everything was approved and complete. After I set up my online access I applied for their visa cash rewards card, received a 3-5 day message and was approved the next day with a Visa Signature Cash rewards $7,500 limit on 10/1/14.

Decided to take a chance and request a credit limit increase to $15,000 on 11/21 (Friday) after the first statement only. Logged into my account yesterday and my balanced had increased to $12,500....without any notice. Very excited however I did get a hard pull on Equifax, but for an extra $5000 is worth it to me (lost 1 point on Equifax for the inquiry).

Go for it and good luck!

Re: NFCU Eligability

As long as you have birth certificate as proof of relationship (same mom or dad) if called upon you will be fine!
I
Don't know if they will deny membership for being in the middle of a BK. But will be able to join shortly after as there are plenty on these boards with BK reporting getting membership. The CC may be offered a secured card.
