So I applied for a 2nd card from Navy the other day after the bank rep encouraged me to do so. Found out today that my application was denied Even tho my Fico is about 20pts HIGHER than it was when I was approved for my Cash Rewards Siggy (I knew I should of waited the full 90 days) Long story short I decided to ask them to move some of my avail. Balance to open the MC go rewards acct. Because I have read on here how everyone has done that. For some reason I can't see my application online so I called in. I was told by 3 different people that they do not offer this and that a decline is a decline. Can you say pissed!!! We all know that they do. Navy shows me no love and I honestly think it's because I refuse to put my direct deposit with them. My stubs are on file, I have a perfect pay history on my credit report...not sure what the problem is. Has something changed and I missed it? If that wasn't enough I applied for a new Amex after finally receiving my 1st card in the mail and was instantly declined (didn't think if get approved) but I figured what could it hurt because if declined it's just a soft pull right?.........WRONG!! Opened my email this afternoon to a hard hit on my Exp report
Has this happened to anyone else with AMEX? I'm so bummed. I have no choice but to garden now.
Whats does your credit snapshot look like with TU and Experian? I know NFCU uses TU and of course as you mentioned EX for AMEX.

Thought NFCU used Eq?? Just from reading other threads?
Im in CA and they used TU for my pull. Here is my snapshot:
TU Fico: 679
AAOA 6mo
9 Inquires
7 Accounts in good standing
1 collection (7 month old paid collection)
2 public records (tax liens released)
Oldest Open Account 11mo.

My credit report is young but crystal clear. 100% on time payments. No baddies. No nothin. Utilization about 10% scores range from 625-660. (Sorry newer to posting so I'm not sure how to respond to each person) I was logged in to my Amex acct. when I applied. Boy oh boy I wish I would of known that. Never would of hit that button lol! I hope Amex is not looking at me crazy. I just kept hearing from everyone how you can get cards back to back with them. Lesson learned![]()

Was that your SL with Navy? I swear everyone has a better limit with them but me. I stand by my idea that if you don't direct deposit with them, they give you no love. They even declined my LOC without a cosigner. I HAVE PERFECT CREDIT lol!! Craziness
based on what you've pointed out, Id season that credit file a bit longer and get those scores from the 625-660 to 660-680ish. I also wasnt getting any love when i was at your score range with both NFCU and AMEX got denied several times with Amex until my Ex score got above 650 and with NFCU above 660. Hope this helps.

Yes $17.5K was my SL, I was denied for LOC though. And I have no Direct deposit setup
