NFCU LOC "in review"

Hello all!

So after joining NFCU on 11/17 and then being approvied for the NRewards Visa for $8,000, i decided today to apply for the LOC for the max of $15k...it's been "in review" all day, even though it says that it's usually just in review for an hour...anyone had this happen?  The same day i was applied for the Nrewards I also applied for the Cash rewards...I was only approved for 1 of those cards (which is totally fine with me since that's a great CL!) The reason for the decline was too many INQ, and my util on my other cards was too high.  So now I'm wondering if i'll be denied also for the LOC...hoping not!

Also, I just did a balance transfer from my other cards to my new NFCU Visa. I transferred balances on my not so good cards I have: Credit One, First Premier, and Continental Finance. I was told there was a 10 day wait until those are processed since it's a brand new card (I havent even gotten the actual card yet in the mail). Which is not a problem...but now I wonder what to do with those cards that I paid off...do I close them all? They all have AF's...but I dont want to hurt my score either if I close them.

Thanks!

Re: NFCU LOC "in review"

Do you think it'll look better for my util to have them open with a zero balance, or does it not matter if they are open or closed?

Thanks again!

Re: NFCU LOC "in review"

You should close them, maybe keep one open as a backup card if it has a decent CL. They will still be part of your AAoA for ten years as someone else has stated! If they are all $300ish CL's they won't really play a role in your utilization. So save the fee's and close them unless you have a $1,000+ line on one of them.
