All of my CLIs were initiated by me. Apparently you have to give them permission to consider your accounts for CLI automatically.  I haven't made that phone call yet

Never heard that one before. Is that all of their cards?

What were your credit scores like when your card first went unsecured? I am debating whether to try to take a hit with a hard pull and apply for an unsecured card. I already have an unsecured with them, just about to hit the 91 day mark on it, so maybe I'll just wait!

My NFCU EQ09 was only 606, but probably more importantly I had used NFCU to purchase a new vehicle and refinance my 2018 in those first 60 days.  These actions likely raised my internal score triggering the unsecure action.

My nRewards just graduated and they increased my limit to $2,000. I asked for a CLI of $25,000 and they countered with $6,000 within the same day of unsecuring. Your results may vary. But the rep over secure messaging said normally they only do a CLI every 6 months but they did mine as a courtesy. That did result in a hard pull.

Re: NFCU Navy Federal Secured nRewards Graduated, CLI attempt info

I got an NFCU rewards secured in Jan 2019. I did not use at all and kept wondering why it did not graduate. So I’m Aug of 2019 I started using and paying in full for the next two months and it graduated this month to 2,000. So now I have to wait 180 days from the graduation month to get another increase? **bleep** that sucks in a card I have had since Jan 2019.

Re: NFCU Navy Federal Secured nRewards Graduated, CLI attempt info

This is what the CSR said to me

Thank you for your follow up message. We generally grant credit line increases on an existing credit card account no more than once every six months. However, as a courtesy we took a second review of your application. After careful review, we were unable to offer you credit on the terms that you requested. We have, however, increased the credit limit to $6,000 on your cashRewards Visa account, effective immediately. Further details regarding the Credit Card Lending Teams decision has been mailed to your address of record, and should be received within 7-10 business days. If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know.

Did you hit the increase button originally, or just message them from the beginning? I want to request CLI and product change on mine.

Re: NFCU Navy Federal Secured nRewards Graduated, CLI attempt info

I requested through the CLI increase option online and gave me the 24 hour message. Then they sent me a message saying that it was too early. But I sent them another message saying that I requested 25K and they said that they couldn’t do that but as a courtesy they would increase to 6,000.
