NFCU Online Prequal Link Back

So I was looking around and decided to check Navy's credit cards page and I noticed the Prequalify link was back. No idea if it's any more reliable, but I tried it and it came back that I prequalified for ALL of their cards...which I highly doubt is the case. I have 3 unpaid COs, 1 collection, and 5 paid COs. My util is around 57%, though it'll come down by the end of this month. It's interesting because when I called and asked a rep for prequalification, they said the same thing; that I had prequalified for "ALL" cards.

Anyway I was wondering if someone else would mind trying it and seeing if they, too, prequalify for ALL cards.

@OmarGB9  if your COs are not NFCU accounts, give it a try.

It's a single pull, and if it works, it would be great.

Honestly, I wouldn't hesitate over a single HP.

Oh yes, I will be apping for a cash rewards in a few weeks once I pay down my cards and achieve AZEO + pay off another CO. Hopefully that'll net me 10-20 pts and might make a difference. Smiley Happy

Re: NFCU Online Prequal Link Back

@OmarGB9 The Navy prequal link is known to be unreliable. A CSR is supposed to have access to a different prequal tool which is supposed to be more reliable.

Navy is DTI sensitive, so paying off your Co's will help.

Worst case you get a low limit or they might counter with the secured card.

Good luck!

See that's the thing, I called a while back to ask for prequal, and they said the same thing: I prequalified for *all* their cards, which I highly doubt with my dirty file..

But thanks for the good wishes! I hope to get the unsecured cash rewards!

Re: NFCU Online Prequal Link Back

When I checked the prequal link, the first time it came around, I was only prequalified for the secured card (which I already had) and I was still under 91/3 by a week or so. A month later, I could not get the prequal link to work to save my life! So I called in, and was prequalified for all cards. I was approved $500 Amex at the highest APR.

I also was fairly certain I would not get the card, but I was not worried about going up to 3 INQs.

What I don't understand, is that it doesn't seem to factor in their internal 91/3 rule OR their 3 card limit rule. I wonder if their "call-in prequal" takes that into consideration. I would try calling in to see, but all my reports are frozen :/
