NFCU Pending

Hello everyone, yesterday I reestablished membership with NFCU. Today I applied for cashRewards card and application went pending. TU Fico 8 is 663 14% utilization and 7 inquiries within past six months. Any ideas on the outcome?

Re: NFCU Pending

Nobody is going to have any solid idea on the outcome. However, Disc have me at the same fico as you as of a couple days ago and I am also very similar in util/Inq. I plan to apply again to NFCU in a few weeks and I am expecting no issues. I tried applying a few months ago with high util and a CS in the lower 600's and got a denial. I think you have a good shot! Even better if you have a strong AAoA.
Good luck! Keep us updated.

AoA is 1 yr 9 months with oldest account 31 years and 2 months. Only collection is closed and paid in full was $220. Everything currently open is 100% in good standing.

Re: NFCU Pending

I applied over the phone and my application went to pending status as well.  I wouldn't fret too much as pending doesn't necessarily mean it's denied.  My credit score at the time I applied was around 700.  You will probably have an answer within a few days.  I think it took 2 days before I received an email telling me I had been approved.

Re: NFCU Pending

Nothing to worry about, fairly common.  If for some reason they deny you a CC just reapply in a few months.  I had a weird experience with getting in with them, had to do a secured card than a month later than approved me for another card but one that was unsecured at 6k.  Nothing really changed in that one month from what I could tell but it was weird. You might also want to apply for the CLOC, they have limits up to 15k.  Seperate underwriting for CLOC but worth the HP to have an account with tons of flexibility.

Re: NFCU Pending

+1 post right above me for PLOC, Best account I have though with Penfed in my case, never quite realized how useful a PLOC can be until I got it, out of all my accounts it generally gets the best use overall by far.

Re: NFCU Pending

Thanks for positive thoughts. I ended up being approved for $5,700 with 16.5%. Kind of disappointed in SL, has anyone have luck in requesting a reconsideration?

First off, congrats on the approval. You could always try sending a SM and asking for a higher SL. As I am sure you know, it will grow in no time so don't worry too much.

Congrats Op on your approvalSmiley Happy. If you need a bit perspective on your starting limit things could be worse, see my $500 starting limitSmiley Happy As stated and proved many times here at Ficoland, that limit will grow like wildfire and with Navy being the biggest of the big, theyll have money to spread enough for all of us eventuallySmiley Happy
