NFCU_Through NLUS_What a loooong journey

It started on Dec 3rd (3 days before I close on a house) that I made an in-branch application to NFCU (Joined NLUS in November), I waited 2 weeks to finally call them and they have no record of me submitting app and asked for me to re-sub.  Dec 12th I submit online with all the info that this forum said I'd need to have no hiccups, after 2 days I was asked to submit additional ID and 1 additional info to confirm address, which I send to them all showing my new address (already moved into house on 6th), went into the branch a week later because of no word and now telling me the problem is I'm giving them information originally on a house I was renting but giving them docs supporting new address.

Had to fill out new application with new address and she had someone on the phone that manually inputted the app (that was last Wed) and said security will review and get word back to me difinitively on Friday, no word for almost a week and went into branch yesterday after work and she was able to get a supervisor from security on the phone and get the app approved! (Yay).

Now the bad news...... She sets up my account and I put $50 into savings and get debit card, flashing back to 2 weeks ago when I closed on my new home my 8 scores were TU 667 EX 660 and EQ 679 (Bankcard scores 20-30 pts higher) but I charged about $4,000 worth of furniture on several cards and a new address popped up on my credit report (I didn't apply for any new credit) and my TU alone lost 11pts on address change.  I was trying to open up Navy before the balances updated but it took too long then they started to report and now TU and EQ are both at 650 and EX is 659.

Applied for a GoRewards card through my online app via my account and got the we're reviewing your app, then a text message saying the same, now waiting today to see if I get anything-is this normal or was it too quick to apply after opening an account (took the chance now because of the hard pull for membership)

26% Util at time of app, all accounts owned are about 1.2 years and oldest is 10 years

We joined on 11/21 and applied for a GoRewards card and a personal loan that day. Was approved for the card later that day and for the loan the next day. Both went to review. Our scores were about the same as yours.

I understand your frustration however anytime you apply for credit (or a bank product/account) at the same time you're moving it can get tricky... and that's by design.  If it were "hassle-free" it would be trivial for somebody to swipe your identity and have new checks, credit cards, etc. sent to the address of their choosing.

It looks like you got things worked out, though... congrats on the approval!  screamer.gif

I believe your experience with NFCU will be much more positive from here on out.  Smiley Wink
