NFCU app advice

okay so i apped for the goRewards on friday in hopes to get that and covert my flagship to the platinum for the lower APR and that'd leave me with three (the max).

goRewards (idk if it'll be approved, had it in the past)
cashRewards - $10k
flagship - $8k instant approved 11/04/15
LOC - $15k

i realized that if you app for two cards in the same month they go to manual review. here's a weird chain of events that tells me to maybe just cancel the app and try again later:

went to app last friday and my phone wouldn't let me (wouldn't scroll down passed the area where you accept terms)
then i called to do it and the lady said for some reason the app failed and never went through (no hp as of yet)
then did it again on my tablet (never fails) and went to review.
that was all friday

called saturday and they said i would hear something back sunday
called sunday and they said i would know by today but the lady says based on my current relationship i should be approved (but she's no underwriter so idk why she said that)
today i call and it still hasn't been looked at.

do you think it's destine for me to cancel this based on the circumstances being all out of the ordinary?

That is a weird chain of events for sure, that surprises me though because Navy is pretty effortless and on the ball about things. Good luck though hopefully it goes through. eventually Smiley Wink

Yeah that's weird. You'd think if anything took longer than usual it would be a car refinance and not a CC app. Come on Navy what's up? Well you've got a pretty good relationship with Navy so I feel confident for you, but even if you don't get it soon I know you'll get it eventually.

lol thanks. that's why i am asking if i should just cancel it and try later or what. i like NFCU but i feel maybe a manual review won't turn out well

If you don't feel good about a manual review, then by all means cancel it. Worst case scenario you set yourself back a month or so. Go with your gut.

I'm assuming you didn't get good news... if that's the case, it's still not for 'naught'... at least now you won't have to wonder - and you can concentrate on your next move instead of being preoccupied with the possibility of another Navy card (at least that's what I would have done had I not at least tried... failing isn't always a bad thing.)

Now you're 'free' and can more forward!

(If it didn't work out I'm truly sorry to hear that, I know everybody hopes for the best and I'm not meaning to marginalizing something lousy... I'm just saying sometimes 'bad' isn't 'all bad'  Smiley Wink)

Re: NFCU app advice

it wasn't really needed lol. when i get it eventually i will convert my flagship to the platinum to drop it to 13.99% and get my yearly deductions to eventually get it to the lowest. lol.
