Question: I am planning to apply for my 2nd NFCU Platinum CC, to take advantage of the 0% BTO while I gradually pay down my balances.
I already have one NFCU Platinum CC with a $10k credit limit and $0 balance. (and no 0% BTO)
I would like to do a CLI on the first card, because if I increase my CL, then overall, my utilization goes down and my credit score gradually goes up.
Question: is it better to request a CLI on the *first* card *before* applying for the 2nd card?
or apply for the 2nd card before requesting a CLI on the first card?
Any data points here?
As always, I look forward to your wisdom and insight!

Go for your CLI first. Its a SP. Then app for the 2nd card.
Apply for the card first.
If you apply for the CLI first, the card application could be rejected for being at Navy's maximum unsecured limit for your profile

Always better to go for the 2nd card FIRST, then request the line increase on the 1st card.
If you request the limit increase first on the 1st card, you may reach your max exposure with them and they'll decline the 2nd card. Also, if you're approved for the 2nd card, Navy is typically more generous with a limit increase on that card after they see how your handle both.
Hmm, its always worked for me. Although I hadn't factored max exposure relative to profile. Sorry for bad info
thank you, this is good to know, @fury1995 !

No worries @Creditwiser, it's good to have your DP and that's why we have the community here, to get more than one point of view!! I still appreciate you sharing your experience.
Another vote for new card first, then CLI on existing card.
As already mentioned, with NFCU, you're better off applying for the second card first...then asking for a CLI on the first card.
Good luck!
