So i decide to go for a NFCU softpull cli so i went online filled out the forms and submitted it. My CL then was 19k
After a few seconds what do i get? The dreaded "review" message. Soooo like every well educated myfico member i in seconds called NFCU and requested to cancel my cli request. The rep put me on hold for 5 min and after talking to even a specialist they assured me that my credit wasnt pulled and they were able to catch it in time. Given that i called about 60 seconds after submitting. Big sigh
Next morning, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and i wake up to find a nice big juicy hardpull sandwhich in my myfico kitchen (app) now....**bleep**
Of course i call NFCU and they tell me that my credit wsa pulled the instant i clicked the submit button online. I call BS but while i'm already getting inquire bit@# slapped i told them to just use that HP to see what i can get.
New CL 25k. 6k increasre.
Now i dont know if thats a good or bad thing?
I guess the moral of the story is. You cant stop a NFCU hardpull by calling
The last two times I've gotten the "review" message, I've called and requested the CLI request be withdrawn.
1) One time I called and requested cancellation *immedlately* after putting in my request. The rep told me "So sorry, your credit was already pulled and you were denied." I woke up to a 3K increase.
2) Second time I called, I was told that my credit wasn't pulled and the request was withdrawn. I woke up to an increase.
Both times resulted in a HP, obviously.
The lesson I, personally, have learned -- don't push the button unless you're prepared for an HP.
Congrats on the CLI -- but unless you're applying for a mortgage in the next few months, an HP is no big thang.
While I've read many times of stopping the hardpull. As the OP, I have had zero luck stopping mine and my wife's. I have always been successful with my cli's. My wife not so lucky, in our cases we are in the same boat as OP when it comes to unable to stop the hp's.

Big +1 to this ^^^^.
While calling to cancel the request does work sometimes, more and more I'm reading where it doesn't, even if the call is made right away.
Basically if you're in a situation where a HP could cause a problem (i.e. about to close on a mortgage) don't risk it, since the results are YMMV.
Edited to add: Congrats to the OP on the sweet CLI!
