Sorry to hear that, but congratulations on the new card and great SL.

No CLI, but a great SL on a new card, go figure. NF seems to have become a very strange duck.

Re: NFCU just applied and have a question

Given what I've read recently about NFCU and some of the adjustments in their underwriting methodology, the CLI decline is no surprise. Just be glad they approved you for a new tradeline.

Thanks, I just don't get it. Crazy.. but I am happy with the $20,000

Re: NFCU just applied and have a question

There's been sufficient anecdotal evidence recently that confirms the shift in underwriting to some extent. I decided, based on the advice of pizza1, to forego the CLI this time around given that in September 2017 I was approved with a decent CL on the Go Rewards. Instead of requesting a CLI this past December, and given the mixed CLI results on multiple forums, I opted for the More Rewards AMEX and it was auto approved (higher CL than Go Rewards). Saved the extra HP.

rookie08 - Did they deny your CLI or are you still waiting to hear? I sent a message inquiring about it, and about 30 mins later I had an alert they pulled EQ. For the Go Rewards they pulled TU ... so hoping they are still working on the CLI

Still no word on the CLI. For the CashRewards, they also pulled TU. I don't have any alerts about another pull, so I'm assuming they haven't done anything yet. I did only ask for a $10K limit on that card and my current limit is $2K. When I completed the app for the CLI, it said I could request up to $50K. If I'm not approved for the CLI, I won't be too upset since I have the CashRewards card now.

Thank you for the data points. I've just became a member with NFCU. Just got approved for a checking account, with one bad on chexsystem.
