So the thinking on this is if Navy tries a HP and can't get in because the files are locked, they will be content with a SP because I'm an existing customer?

Apply for the CLI online and it is a soft pull.

BTW there was a comment made earlier in the thread about reallocating limits among NFCU cards.  NFCU never officially supported doing it and while for a period of time they would often quietly do it if asked, IIRC around early last year they cracked down and they now enforce a no-CL-reallocation policy.

I called twice in December and had funds reallocated from my Visa platinum to my MC platinum because I needed a larger CL to take advantage of the 0% 12-month BT on the MC platinum.

Also, if the CSR tells you it can't be done, which will happen, ask to speak to a supervisor. That's what I ended up doing both times.

|| AmX Cash Magnet $40.5K || NFCU CashRewards $30K || Discover IT $24.7K || Macys $24.2K || NFCU CLOC $15K || NFCU Platinum $15K || CitiCostco $12.7K || Chase FU $12.7K || Apple Card $7K || BOA CashRewards $6K

This most likely was done on a case by case basis and more so due to the fact it was to complete a bt. I had same thing happen when my initial sl wasnt high enough to do my bt  they allowed movement of limit but beyond that was shutdown completely on next attempt regardless of reason.
