NFCU question

Well after many years of trying to get into NFCU I finally got in. So I applied for a CC and the checking line of credit. I got the max for the LOC but I have not heard back about the CC and it's been three days. Should I be patient and ride it out or call? Also, is it a good sign that I got the max on the LOC or are they judged independently?

Re: NFCU question

The NFCU website is very, very, very slow in updating info.  Especially the application portal.  Last time I checked my applications still show under review even though I already have the card in hand and have signed the paperwork for the CLOC.  Give them a call to see what is going on.  I'm pretty sure you will be very happy with what you hear.

Re: NFCU question

Well that makes me feel better, I can wait it out. It just seemed odd that the CLOC approval was emailed to me within a few hours but I guess since there is paperwork associated with it maybe that was generated separately to notify me of the required signature. Thanks!

Re: NFCU question

From what I've seen if the credit card decision takes longer than a day or two then it is usually a decline.

Call and ask they have very nice reps.

Re: NFCU question

Call and ask, The CLOC and CC are managed by different Underwriters. Samething happened to me. However they approved me for a $500 CLOC which I took to start Smiley Very Happy

Hey, quick question: you have $40,000 listed as your AMEX Plat limit. How is that possible? I thought they had no pre-set spending limits being they are a charge?

Re: NFCU question

All Amex charge cards have a limit. You can't see it, in order to know you can go to the purchase limit button and see if your approved for the transaction. Screen Shot 2017-01-08 at 10.57.32 AM.png

Re: NFCU question

The limit is hidden but is based on your spending habit, credit report and income.
