@Anonymous wrote:Well... I applied and got the "24 hour" message. Now of course I am panicking that I made the wrong decision.
I know there's nothing to do but wait, but thought I would update in case anyone had any further advice. I really hope I don't damage my already frail score by inquiring only to get declined.
I'll let you know what I hear back. This rebuilding game is tricky.
You should be good. The wait is common. I had a 3-5 day wait before being approved (weekend). They pulled TU for my membership and EQ for my cc approval.
Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!
They called to ask my housing status and what my monthly rent payment is. I provided that information and she said I should hear back within "24-48 business hours"... I laughed, can't say I've ever heard it phrased that way. But nonetheless, I'm slightly less worried after hearing folks say this is normal.
My income (completely verifiable if need be; 11 years at the same place) is about $75k and my rent is $700 per month. That's astonishingly low here in the DC area so I hope they can appreciate as much. I have no dishwasher, no central A/C, and a boiler in my kitchen-- I wish lenders could see the sacrifices good people make after BK in trying to rebuild. If they could, I'm quite certain they would be climbing over themselves to do business with me!!

I predict on Monday that you will have a nice new shiny NFCU card on its way to you.
aaaand I just got an alert that they pulled EQ. Which is good news for me because that's my best score and I only have two (including this latest) INQs there.
So I second the poster who said NFCU pulled TU for membership and EQ for credit.
Good luck!
Good luck! Hopefully you hear something early on Monday!
Thanks for the good wishes, all. I got a TEXT MESSAGE (weird, but ok) this morning stating that my application has been approved and that I will receive a card in 7-10 days. No word on the limit though, so I sent a secure message inquiring about it.
Now that I've got my three open cards, it's off to the garden for me until auto loan app time. I can't wait to see how the on-time, in full payments will help my score. I'll be keeping under 10% util on one card, and PIF the other two.
This board has been so helpful in understanding what to do to boost my score and demonstrate creditworthiness.

Login to your account, go to " Account Services". Scroll down to "check status of a pending loan application "
That will give you all the details.
WELL isn't that helpful?! LOL I'm so used to dealing with a small local CU that is way behind the technology curve, so this readily available info was surprising! Cannot wait to bring all my business to NFCU.
Looks like I got approved for the Signature cash rewards card with $5000 limit. WOW that is completely unexpected and I am pleased with myself for taking the chance. Now I can head to the garden with a nice feeling.
All those years prior to my BK, I wondered what it would feel like to have available credit that I did not need nor want to use. And now I know. There is light.
