NORDSTROM store card to a Regular Visa questions

i read where some of yall were able to switch your store card to a Visa. So i called in and the lady said that they are no longer doing conversions. She said that I would have to apply for the credit card out right. Has anyone heard this? The lady did SP me and moved my credit from 2k-3k. (i got that out of the call) She did say that if i applied, that i could get denied, could get approved for a lessor amount, or a higher amount. BUT that i would need to go into the store to apply. towards the end of the call, she kind of urged me to go apply.

So my question, has anyone heard about this? has anyone did it yet? any thoughts or suggestions would be nice.

Hi! I am no expert, but my guess is your account is not eligible for the unpgrade. I have not heard anything about the upgrades no longer being offered. If I were you, I would call back and speak to another csr and ask if you are eligible for the upgrade and if you are not, definitely ask..GL!

Ok yeah I didn't read anything that said they were no longer converting. I will give them another call.

Would your limit need to be 5k to switch to the visa ?

That's for the signature visa. They now have a platinum visa that you can convert to with a smaller limit. But they are saying that you have to apply for it now. That it changed within the last month. So trying to see if anyone else has heard that.

Ok thanks, thats weird that they would change the policy again after recently allowing to convert. Msybe you can pm Pizza1 and see her take on it . I believe she was able to convert. Best of luck.

So I called back and they said the system that does the conversion is down at the moment and to try back in a month.

I just received a letter about a week ago stating that my Norstrom store card was switching to their Visa Plat card at the end of August. They increased my CL from 2000 to 3500 as well.

Re: NORDSTROM store card to a Regular Visa questions

I just got increased $1500 up to $4200 now. Not bad considering I started in April 2016 with $300cl. Plus my scores are still not that great 615-630. I'm hoping this means I'll be getting a conversion letter too.

All of you that got CLI's with Nordstrom retail cards, were they auto-cli or did you call and ask for an increase?  I've had my card now since March 22 of this year and would like an increase.  I started with $1500.
