Okay so, I would appreciate some clarification if someone's willing to help me out with this...
-Husband and I both got our first Navy cards 5/27. Was hoping to squeak in our 91/3 for second cards before the current SUBs expire at the end of August.
-According to my math, our 91 days from approval would be 8/26 (have 8/27 marked on calendar for safety, might wait until 8/30 for extra cushion).
-Husband's card cut the first statement 6/4, (only 8 days after getting approved!). Clearly a partial first statement, so his 3rd full statement wouldn't be until 9/4.
-Conclusion for Husband: Won't be eligible for 2nd card until after 9/4, not in time for current SUBs.
-My card cut 1st statement 6/24, 28 days after approval. Is this still considered a partial statement, or is this long enough to count as a full statement?
-If partial, then I'm in same boat as Husband and won't be eligible as I won't be at 3 full until 9/24. If it's considered full, then I'd be at 3 full on 8/24, and 91 days 8/26, therefore squeaking in before end of August SUBs expiration.
So.. would that be a partial or full first statement?
Also, I've seen people apply for new card/CLI and be denied for being too early, and I realize this doesn't reset the 91/3 or 181 day "clock", however does NFCU still HP if you're too early on a new card app?

If you actually apply for a credit card, you will receive a hp, no ands ifs or buts. A hp is not dependant on approval or denial nor whether you are too early on applying. Not the same as cli fyi.
To add , i would recommend waiting until 3 full statements for best results.

@AverageJoesCredit Yes, that's why I'm trying to figure out / asking for advice on if my first statement would be considered a "full" statement, since it was 28 days? Or if it would still be considered a partial? I've had "full" statements with other companies range from 28-32 days. It's much easier to tell if its a partial in situations like DH's when it was only 8 days, lol. That's obvious. But the 28 days puts me on the fence, because I am unsure if it is long enough. Does it have to be 30+ days to count as full in this situation? Or is 28 long enough?

To me 28 days feels like a full statement. To add if you go to your account and see 3 statements generated, i would feel confident on having met the criteria. I know you may want the subs now but remember the holidays are coming and Navy usually puts out nice subs for that time period so you might come out better waiting. Just my opinion of course.

Okay, thank you. 28 days feels like a full statement to me as well, but I was unsure of how strict the rule is (i.e. has to be 30 days, or something). As far as waiting to see next quarter's SUBs.. DH will definitely have to since he got a clearly short first statement and won't hit 3 full in time. So we may end up with a mix, of him waiting and me trying to squeeze in. But, I may end up waiting it out as well if I'm feeling too nervous on the timing.
28 days counts for sure. My first statement from Navy was 25 days and that counted - I was able to get an increase at 91/3.

Perfect! I was hoping for some experience based answers. As I said above in a reply to AJC, 28 days definitely *feels* like a full statement, so I'm glad to hear that somewhere in that 25-28 day range counts as full. Looks like I should be set to go then towards the end of August!
Hoping you get what you're after - please update this thread after you go for it

I, too, can confirm I had a short statement as my first one, but after having 3 more 25+ day statements (My 2nd overall, 1st full statement was 25 days), I was eligible for another card, applied, and got approved.
