Navy CLI

Hi all,

Today I applied for a CLI on my flagship and it was approved (from 17k-20k). I only asked for 3k more because I didnt think I would get approve for any more. But during a chat with someone from the credit card department, she noted that the computer suggested more but she wasnt allowed to tell me how much. Am I screwed? Arhhhhh I miss the max button so bad Smiley Sad. I sent an email to see if they would considere honoring what the computer suggested. Any advice? It was a soft pull, EQ 727. I do not want an additional card or a hard pull. Trying to clean up my report.

Re: Navy CLI

Congrats on the CLI!

If there is anything I have learned about nfcu, ask for the most and they will counter with what they will give if it's different.  I don't think you can ask for another increase on the same card but maybe someone else can chime in if they have done a back to back request.

You could always SM and ask for a higher CLI using a SP only. Be adamant that you do not want a HP.

|| AmX Cash Magnet $40.5K || NFCU CashRewards $30K || Discover IT $24.7K || Macys $24.2K || NFCU CLOC $15K || NFCU Platinum $15K || CitiCostco $12.7K || Chase FU $12.7K || Apple Card $7K || BOA CashRewards $6K

SP? Soft Pull? Soft Inquiry? I didn't think that NFCU knew an SP existed let alone allow one?

Your FICO credit scores are not just numbers, it’s a skill.

Re: Navy CLI

I was denied a CL increase after a HP about two months ago. Do you know if the 6 month rule applies in this instance since I was denied?

Current Open: NFCU AMEX $6,800 CL | Chase Freedom $3,800 CL | QS1 $1,300 CL | BankAmericard $24,000 CL (AU) | NFCU SSL $3,000 |
FICO 8 EXP, EQ, TU: 675-715 (depending on Utl.) | AAoA 3 Years 3 Months | AoYA 0 Months

Closed: American Honda Finance Installment $16,000 paid satisfactorily | Capital One Secured $700 paid satisfactorily | Wells Fargo credit card $3,000 paid charge off settled less than full amount (badie 2015) | Bank of America credit card $1,000 paid charge off settled less than full amount (badie 2015)

6 month rule only applies if you were approved. There is no set rule on when you can ask next after a denial, they will happily HP you every time you ask.
