Navy Fed Cash Rewards CLI request

I just recently paid off a good chunk of my credit card balance. $8500 CL and I paid it down to $1000. I'm believe I'm ready to do a CLI. Not sure how to go about this with the best chances of getting a soft pull. I've been with NFCU for 4 years or so. I have had a small car loan (8k) that was paid off early. Just recently bought a new car with them. Flagship checking or whatever the highest earning one is. A savings account and 15K LoC with them. I don't remember when I first got the card.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated and if I need to provide more info please let me know.

Re: Navy Fed Cash Rewards CLI request

Next soft pull (AR) will be the first week of September after your FICO score updates. Most of the time a CLI request will use this soft pull (odd numbered months Jan/Mar/May/etc) unless the CLI goes to "review" and then it's probably a hard pull. Given you have not asked for a CLI in your recent history there is a very good chance that the CLI will be substantial and be a soft pull.

Plus 1 Pipeguy, 1st week of September is your best chance.

Re: Navy Fed Cash Rewards CLI request

How much should I ask for in order to avoid getting reviewed?

Re: Navy Fed Cash Rewards CLI request

Request amount has nothing to do with review. You are either eligble for sp cli or not. If not it will be reviewed. Shoot for moon , if they cant give all , they will counter. 25k is reasonable but not knowing your income assets or profile, ask for what you want or comfortable

Re: Navy Fed Cash Rewards CLI request

Just curious. Last November I got my first Navy card when I went in branch and did a cold app for the Platinum card for which they gave me $25k @ what is now 7.74%. Is the cli a sp or hp? Would it even be worth trying for more. Navy Fico at 800 as of 7/3. Thanks.

Re: Navy Fed Cash Rewards CLI request

Thanks to all that replied. Just for clarification, I should aim to go for a CLI between the 2nd-8th of September for the best chance at a SP?

And I make about 48k-50k yearly. I'm not sure how much in total I have in assets. Is it worth me going for 25k with my income?

Re: Navy Fed Cash Rewards CLI request

I would shoot for 25k with your income. I was only reporting 18-20k income last year when I applied for the GoRewards and received an instant approval of 10k, literally giving me a CC with half my income as a limit lol.

I’m not sure what NFCU looks for when making these approvals. It’s probably a combination of mostly responsible credit use/good history and then income. But YEMV.

Re: Navy Fed Cash Rewards CLI request

well I just went for the CLI (25k) after having my FICO updated. My FICO is 809. No instant CLI, says it went to review. Oh well was hoping to just get a SP, but if I receive any increase I will be happy.
