Yes. It is a hard pull. Navy just gave you a HP for merely mentioning their name.

Hi, yes, Navy will hard pull your credit report to open a new card - TransUnion.

Ok. Thanks for the response. I currently have 2 inquiries on TU and I know that FedEx will be doing another in a couple of months to unsecure my secured card with them.

Don't hesitate. It will be the best Hard Pull you ever authorized. Take care of it and it will turn into a big credit line as you build important history with Navy.
