Also i applied for a 2nd card for my husband and it said he didnt meet critiera. i applied on the 91st day. he has no derogs maybe a 620 and has a cash rewards of $500. i did apply for 2 new accounts in less than 3 months that he was approved for like my jeweler and self lending to help with his credit. i wonder if he has too many new accounts is the issue. but i applied for a cli asked for 10k got 1000 im still excited about that. so should i recon. i woudmt care if they approved the 2nd card for a 100 as long as there is 2 cc for him im happy.
A $500 approval is barely squeaking in. So I disagree with your being happy with a $100 CL just so he has 2 CCs
. With a 620 score, there is definitely something in his report that's negative. I suggest stop applying for anything for 6-12 months, review the CRs with a fine-tooth comb to figure out why he doesn't meet NFCU's criteria, and work on those things. Then in no time, especially with NFCU, he should be able to have his own $15K CL card; then you both can be happy with his success too.
Looking for some further advice... next month I will hit my 91/3 mark on a $10k NFCU Platinum MC that was approved back on 7/12/19. As mentioned in a previous post, I expected a higher SL based on my income ($330k) and FICOs (mid-high 700s), but suspect that my overall UT at the time (35%) was a handcuff. Since then, UT is way down (now <10%) and FICOs now over 800 (see my signature for additional DPs).
So my question is what's the next best course of action with NFCU to maximize my total unsecured exposure with them once I hit the 91/3 mark next month? Request a 3x CLI on the Platinum, apply for a 2nd card, or both? If both, in what order?
I'd prefer not to open a 2nd NFCU card right now after opening new cards with NFCU (reporting), Chase (reporting), and Apple (not yet reporting) in the last 2 months which is driving down my AAoA, but I'm not against the idea as I'm going to be gardening for a couple years anyway after this recent spree. I'm just wondering if it'd better to stick with 3x CLI request for now, then trying another CLI request next year (at least 6 months, right?) to get me up to the $50k max on the Platinum, for the cost of two EQ HPs.

The doesn't meet criteria could also be that he is at 91 days but NOT 3 statements. Check statement date and try again. Also, did they do a credit pull? If you're not at 3 statements you shouldn't see one.
My baby momma app'd her second card at 94 days but her 3rd statement was at like 102 days so she got the doesn't meet criteria message. She reapplied after the 3rd statement hit and got 25k on a more rewards.
Well, I pulled the trigger on a Navy AMEX card! It was 91/3 today and I did it! 17K limit with an amazing 12.99 APR!
I started a thread about it in the Approvals forum, but I wanted to thank everyone here who gave info, data points, and encouragement.
Navy is a mystery and I don't understand why they gave me so much. I'm not complaining! It'll bring my util to something far less scary! (Appox under 40%.)
Which brings me to talking about util. It's still really high for me (68% currently), mainly because of some closed credit cards on a fixed-amount payment plan with low interest. Among my open cards, my util is 9%. On paper, however, my horrendously high util should mean I'm a leper, but I guess Navy didn't feel that way?
My situation is not very complicated. FICO scores in the 650-660 range. One big baddy (from about a year ago) with a credit card with 90-day late and I had to settle it for less than full amount (but it's up to date and paid). My income is very modest (24K) but my debt to income ratio is fine (19%). I have a thick(ish), aged file, starting over 20 years ago when I had AU accounts with family members.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED my cashRewards card these last three months. I put about 3K of spend on it (met my sign up bonus) and also paid a lot of attention to it, paying little payments frequently, making little deposits into the Navy checking account. A while back someone described Disco as loving people with "thin and needy" credit profiles and that's me! And I'm wondering if that's why Navy gave me so much love. Besides my Disco card, the Navy card was the only "real" card (not store card, not toy limit card) that I had, and so I showed it my deep appreciation.
Anyway, I hope my story helps others and gives them encouragement. Navy rocks, that's for sure!
Ok guys have a nrewards 2k do we think its possible I can PC to Flagship.
I know minimum cl for Flagship is 5k.
I have 2 platinums using for BT's.
I was also thinking about combining the nrewards into one of the Platinums.
So any thoughts.

@althes Unless you can move limits to it, or get a CLI to 5k.. i don't think they would let you PC to a Flagship. If you don't need it for AAoA, i'd say without a CLI to over 5k, your better bet is to move it into the platinums you have. My opinion as YMMV with Navy.
@aesl1982 Your siggy shows a secured card from 8/19, would that be Aug 2019? If so, you aren't over 91/3 for them to give you another card, and the CLOC would be all you could get at this time. Once you are over 91/3 from your approval date, then sky's the limit (provided your DTI and Payment history are in check)
Agreed, will most likely combine into a Platinum.
