@Wavester64 I believe I read on here that you get your navy score when you are denied, but also if you don't get the lowest APR. It was included in my acceptance paperwork for my Amex MoreRewards (apr%16.99).
There aren't a lot of internal score related DP's around here, likely because I don't think most approvals get that info.
Hope that helps!

I barely got approved for my 2nd navy card. I had the secured card for 4 statements when I applied for the Amex. I got the highest apr and the lowest limit, my internal score was 315, this was just last month. I do wonder if their internal score even has a 12 year memory for your previous fallout with them. My first statement was only 16 days, so I waited for my 4th statement to cut. If you aren't worried about HPs, you could apply again after the 4th statement. But then I personally would wait until my secured graduated to apply for another. That was going to be my plan if I was not approved!
I wish you the best of luck with your navy journey!

Thanks.. this past time I applied online.. I think I'm going to wait until my statement hits again in after the 16th and call in and see if I can get a preapproval with a rep.. don't want to waste a hard pull again.. rinse and repeat every month until I get that preapproval lol - yes I know it's not a side thing with the preapproval.. but I'd rather take the chances with it.

Where does one see their NFCU internal score? I don't see it online or on any statement.
@Wavester64, It is usually only on a denial letter.
Eek - then I hope I never see it then! ![]()

Imho dont rely/depend on preapprovals. A rep can say you are prequalified for all cards and you csn still be denied. Plus, preapprovals and prequals are not the same.

Exactly. This happened to a relative less than a month ago. He called the rep and she put his info in and said he was prequalified for everything. I'm pretty sure they have the same prequel that's online, so you could check yourself. He applied and was denied a card. He had a very low internal score with them. Same thing happened a week later with another relative. Prequalified for all and denied.
On the other hand I prequalified for all, applied the same day as joining and got the lowest apr and never received my internal score. This all happened last month. I would take the prequal with a grain of salt.

Yeah, its kinda that way with Discover. When people call for a cli or try double dipping. They, the csrs, do the exact thing i do by putting my info in the boxes i find online.
On another point as toward the internal scores, i know they are important as they allow us to gain more credit as it grows but honestly i dont put much stock in the actual numbers. In all my time here ive yet to see or read about anyone having a perfect score or near perfect score. Id say 250-325 is respectable and as we see people still get massive credit from them . Just a random thought![]()

When you make the request - is an exact amount asked? i.e did you request $3K and you could have asked for more? (I know 3X is usually the amount approved, but I am wondering how it transpired)
