That is great to hear. I called yesterday and they said the only verification would be to fill out a form that they're sending in the mail and send it back. I just got scared after reading the thread of denial over a utility bill. Maybe I'll hold off for now and see what I receive from their in regards to a verification.
Well I joined in 2018. 2020 is a whole new ball game. I have seen people say they're even verifying income now. Probably wouldn't hurt to have something in place in case they want it.
im at least happy i did the credit thang pre covid cuz i dont think ill ever see another approval post
. Navy was my greatest credit achievement![]()

@Anonymous wrote:I just joined Navy Federal last night and was approved for the Platinum Credit Card this morning with a $1,000 credit limit. I am excited as this is my first unsecured card since my charge off in 2015.
I've been reading this thread and see the suggestions of charging the card and paying it in full befoee the statement cuts. Does that mean I should pay $100 on the card and pay it off so the statement shows $0 balance? Would this hurt my scores by not using any of my credit?
I appreciate any input.
If you are trying to play the score game, there is AZEO amongst other things you can do but you can get advice on that in general credit. Imho, you need not limit yourself to only using 10% of your new card because that is what is expected. Use your card as you see fit. Navy doesnt mind pif or carry balance though its always best to try and pif so you need not worry about it later. Its ok to let a balance report then pay or pay as you go, as i often do. Like stated, how you are trying to manage your scores depends on how much you allow to report but to get more luv from Navy it doesnt really matter so long as they get paid
We're Going Streaking!!😆
Wonder where @AverageJoesCredit , comes up with these things?
Lol, you CANNOT bring a name like @Anonymous here and not bring it old school

@Anonymous congratulations and welcome to the family!
Just out of curiosity when is the Flagship SUB due to return? I'm thinking of apping around Sept 4th when my score peaks right before a few high balances report on the next cycle.

March is when I received my Flagship SUB offer.
So is NFCU just giving 4K(COVID) CLI at the moment.
I am due for one labor day holiday weekend.
So will be putting in the request on the day I see the EQ SP has been done and shows up on the website.

@althes, $4K is the max for CLI's I have seen since covid-19 ... (unless a new application for a card)
Based on my calculation, I reached 91 days on August 23rd. Statement #3 cut on August 24th, after which I apped for a new card and a CLI. No, CLI and a denial on the card. Today I got a letter in the email stating my account was too new. No HP for the new card either. Now, I'm wondering when should I app and ask for a CLI.

Since you got the "account to new" and the "No HP for new card", I am thinking it was not three "FULL" statements.
You could have had 91 days and three statements, but not three "FULL" statements.
(if one was a partial statement)
You can call in and ask, when are you eligible or wait until your next statement cuts and try again.
Which is weird because I was approved on May 24th. I received statements on June 24th, July 24th & Aug 24th. I will call in abs ask when I'm eligible.
