Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

@spaghetti21 welcome to the forum!

So that you get a complete answer, we will need some more data points.

> Fico scores

> Number of inquiries

> How long have you had your first Navy card? SL and most recent CLI?

>AAOA

>Overall utilazation (Navy and across all cards)

>Any current baddies?

>Feel free to give us a snapshot of any/all things that may be relevant to what got you to where you are today with your credit.

The more info you can give us to work with the better!! Smiley Wink

Isn't it nice to have a SOLID lender like NFCU?

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

once you go into 24 hour status, lets say they pull your credit and you are approved, does it still take overnight for the credit card to reflect any increase?

It should it display on your NFCU account pretty quickly.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

So this is only my second post on the myFICO forums, but I've been having some nice strides lately thanks to all of you guys' insight and motivation so I figured I'd share!

Most recently (3/21/17), I got an instant approval on membership and a Cash Rewards CC ($1700 SL; my largest to date) with NFCU. My dad was in the Army, so that's how I got in.

At the time my scores were around TU 658 EX 623 EQ 596. I also applied for the 15k CLOC and found out I was denied via mail about a week or so later.

I'm currently at TU 659 EX 660 EQ 653 and today I decided to apply again for the CLOC, but only asked for a much more modest $2k and I was conditionally approved, I just need to send in my paystubs to verify my income.

I'm ecstatic to be a part of such an amazing CU and can't wait to start seeing my accounts grow!

My questions are:

1. I've been scouring this thread, and my apologies if this has been answered but, how to CLI's work on the CLOC?

Same rules as CC?

2.Also, would you suggest I wait to request a CLI on my CC until September (6 months from my approval) or try for the 3 month 3 statement cut rule?

Special thanks to @Creditaddict for being such a huge help to so many people!!

Oh and when I started rebuilding (October '16) my scores were: TU 601 - EQ 602 - EX 580

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Mine always shows as a change in available credit a day or so before it shows as total CL.  Not sure why but that is how it has always worked for my accounts and my wifes.

I asked for a cli on the 91st day and went from $1K to $14K.  I'm not sure about the CLOC, sorry.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

The CLOC is a hard pull and you find the increase option after you go in like you are applying for a new line. Then on the following page it will ask if this is a new line or an increase of existing and show you the max you can ask for.  I usually see success in going to the full $15k after the first CLI you receive on your credit card.
