wrote:$15K isn't the minimum, I've seen posts on approvals for SL's from $500 to $25K on the More Rewards card.
@Anonymous's just the high rollers like you @Jago and @Anonymous that get those five figure nods from the best CU in the land!!
Happy weekend my friends!!
@Anonymous @Anonymous.. but High Roller?!?!? dumb luck maybe ![]()
I have a CLI coming up at the end of the month, and i'm going to try for that. I am still thinking about the moving all of it to one card, cancelling the middle card and reapping for a SL i dont have to CLI like my amex. I have heard that having the higher limit on your older card is better, but i havent really seen anything with fico that would improve my score or status to back up that statement yet tho.

@Jago, last I knew, Navy wouldn't combine card limits (like Penfed), has that changed or am I not understanding the strategy (yup, it's past my bedtime lol)!!?? My only fear in closing that middle card just to try to get a higher limit is what if they decline the new card attempt?
You know I will anxiously be waiting to hear what you decide to do (and I'll be waiting with my fingers crossed for your massive success)!!

Ok so just got approved today for cloc full 15 k my 91/3 is coming up on my go rewards card with them taking away the max button should I still request full 25k will they counter if I’m not approved for the full 25 k but am approved for a smaller limit my first cc started at 2600 at 91/3 went to 7800 and apps for the go rewards got approved for 4200
Congrats Medic on the full cloc. that is awesome. So without more info as to your specific profile (scores, dti, util etc.) What i can say is that in the past few months the CLI has been more of a 6 month wait now, there are still 91/3 cli's but they seem to go more to ppl with higher incomes and or higher scores so YMMV. I'd say since you did have one at 91/3 your chances are higher. Yes, that DP all show that you ask for 25k and they will counter. This is upto you, but i would suggest (as i'm doing myself) wait till after the AR at the beginning of march for a better chance of the SP cli. Never a guarantee, but worth a try all the same. If you are declined and have the 6 month wait, you have two options: wait for 6 months and then get a cli, or app for a third card. The higher SL after two cards with good history is much more acheivable, if that is something you wanted.
As the admiral would say, we look forward to hearing of your success ![]()

@ Wade When i talked to Navy last, the rep told me i could send a request to move the limit from my cards around but still leaving 500 on the card to keep it open due to minimum. Not sure if that works yet, but might be worth looking into.
On the flip side of that coin, i was thinking about after the cli (if its lower) maybe just moving most of the platinum to the CR as that is one of my daily drivers (amex has a BT on it to keep UTIL lower but should be 0 by june). i heard about the highest limit on the oldest card thing and was curious about that
I have the 2% penfed, so if i move the limit to the platinum and do cancel the CR, even if they decline it, i'm not out anything (other than one more line reporting, as if the 9 i have now wasn't enough) since i still have a great 2% CB card, and if they approve it and i get a monster SL on my CR then AWESOME.
Even tho its only been a year, i'm still in the rebuilder mode where i want to work on and improve everything and mostly i just need to let it all age, and that is hard since there is forward movement, but its not from my actions and i have been so focused on actions and the debate on moving limits and cancelling and reapping cards to keep myself busy while the aging process happens.
@sailor1990 - Thank you for sharing that tidbit about NFCU pulls on EQ. Before I learned that NFCU har pulls for every cli request, I was hitting the max button often. It will be great to clear that up.

@Jago, thanks for the info on moving limits. If you decide to go that route, let us know how it works.
Yup, you said it. The magic of letting it all age and doing nothing. Man, I'm working on it everyday.

I"m not sure if that works yet, but i will be sure to let you know once i try it. The "magic" is killing me.
I was so laser focused on getting cards and installments and working on my reports and other than some EE on TU (might be why my CLI's suck too) i not really hit a wall, but the thing that needs fixed now is just time. Its really hard to just sit and wait after all the work i had to put in over the last 10 months.
Before i know it today will be like a distant memory, but it surely feels super slow right now
