This is true!

Oh thank goodness, I was reading all the old threads about membership being a HP,  kind of freaking out. Then re-viewing in my head all the T&C I read through while joining, and was fairly certain i would have noticed!  I just joined a week ago, after getting my long time roommate who is a Vet set up with them, and was debating wether to wait, and do a few auto-deposits (not paycheck direct deposit, but auto-scheduled pushes from my "main" bank to NFCU on payday), and "get a feel for the place" before applying for credit.  I'm digging out of a debt hole, about $20k in cc debt, 50%ish utilization (down from 55% 1.5 months ago), FICOS all in the 670s as of last week.

Re: Navy Strategy?

Update: NFCU is requesting income docs. While, I can certainly produce them... I just got approved for a few other cards; and I'm still waiting on CSR. - Just got a letter from Chase Lending Services, to simply verify ID. So, I might pass on the Flagship card, for now. - It will just lower my average age, at this point.

I guess I didn't read far enough into the big Navy thread to see what the requirements were for brand new members.

Does anyone know if Navy's doc requirements go away with membership age? - It seems like people are waiting 2 or 3 months for CLI, or something. So, I'm not sure if that's related. But, if I can just reapply in a few months without having to send in docs... I'm not exactly in need of a mortgage from them right now. So, I don't like to send in docs that aren't otherwise totally necessary to obtain unsecured credit.

Tips?
