Navy federal credit card approvals

I opened my checking and savings account last October with navy and immediately applied for cloc and two credit cards. Both declined.Even in recon. At the time, the only credit I had was deferred student loans opened in 2014 and a voluntary repo from 2012( 1 30 day late, car broke down same month)Closed account, no payments due and a paid CO from Dept of education in 2011 for $900 and paid in full in 2014. I opened a cap one card and first premiere card the following November 2017 both for $300, a freshstart account from Fingerhut for $200 that I eventually paid off and graduated into a revolving account for $400. amazon for $400 and Walmart card for $500 in December. In March of this year I got cli on amazon to $6000 and Walmart to $5000. I reapplied in may but was denied for a cc for “ limited credit experience” and too many accounts opened in last 24 months but approved for 15k for cloc and auto loan for $20000. Then I was approved for a sams club card for $600 in may of this year. For whatever reason schcrony bank closed my amazon and Walmart accounts but there is a zero balance on both cards. 🤷🏾‍♀️ And couldn’t give me an exact reason. But got cli to $500 on cap one.My student loans are $19000 but I’ve paid off over $17000 so far( never missed a a payment) I have 100% payment history on all of my accounts. No derogs. No collections. 0 balance on all closed and open accounts except one reporting at 9%. My cap one and first premiere card will hit a year in November, amazon and Walmart in dec( if they count) , fresh start hit a year in oct but revolving account 1 year in jan. So my accounts have aged a little bit except sams club( only a few months)I want to reapply for a credit card but am nervous because my cloc is maxed out(lawyer fees, long story)and my cloc and auto loan are only 5 months old. However, I’ve never been late on my auto loan payment nor cloc payment. Have direct deposit with them and $1000 in savings. Ex score 649 Tr 668 Eq 645. Income $48000 yearly. Monthly obligations: credit cards,Rent $250(live with parent). 387 auto payment. Do I have a better chance of getting approved this time around or should I wait a little longer? If I get approved what will my limit possibly be? Thanks in advance.

Re: Navy federal credit card approvals

The reason why those to account were cloed was dues to the fact that you have been looking for credit and when you request for a credit increase they will  do a soft pull on youu account and if they see to many recent inquiries they will close you account cause you are a  high risk to them and they belive you need credit so bad to survive.

No ,not necessarily. Yes credit seeking can have adverse affects, but Synchrony is not known to close an account so early even with a couple inquiries. They aren't Comenity, Chase, or Barclays who have been known to do so. There must have been another reason.

Re: Navy federal credit card approvals

Good job on paying down your student loans. I got approved for NFCU credit card with a 7k limit with a TU score of 580. So your score is more than good enough. And they aren't going to care about 6 year old Repo. Don't know about how they feel about your income and debts though.
