I opened a Bloomingdale's card 3 months ago. Thought it would act just like a Macy's and give me SP CLI's every 31 Days, so far it's AWFUL! Unless I'm doing something wrong?!
They only gave me a $200 limit and every 31 Days I ask for $24,800 (so as to not leave anything on table)...
It's NEVER approved for anything...
Am I asking for too much?
Is there a requested amount which triggers CSR Manual Review?
Because each time it has gone into review, versus an instant counteroffer?
Please help me if you know what I should do exactly.
What is your credit score? I had the Bloomingdales card with a $300 limit for 5+ years. I asked for an increase maybe once a year and never got approved until late last year. My FICO score was in the high 600s when the CLI was approved (I'm guessing low 600s when initially approved). After the first CLI, I asked for another each month for 2 months and now my limit is $9000 (enough for me so I don't have any plans to request an additional increase). My score was on the lower end of 600 when I was initially approved. If your starting limit was only $200, i don't think you will likely see any increases unless you see an improvement in your fico score.
@Anonymous That is so depressing! I only applied for it because I was told it "grows like a weed" like Macy's. But clearly that is very inaccurate! 😱😭
There are DP's in the Approvals Section that while the same issuer, Bloomie's doesn't grow as fast or as aggressive as Macy's does.
I don't think that's the say "it won't happen" but I think it's safe to say it will not happen at the same pace.
Perhaps @M_Smart007 can add some feedback. I know he's got a lot of experience with both. He taught me some stuff for sure
@cashorcharge, Yes, Blooming Bloomer's does not grow as fast as Macy's ..
But still a decent grower. You have to be careful, they like to HP at times.
I just keep all (3) of my credit bureaus locked
Bloomie's Amex sits at $7,500.00 and Bloomie's store card sits at $9,000.00
Just used the store card today, to buy my daughter (2) Birthday presents.

Happy Birthday to DD!! I knew you'd have the answers!
There you go @Anonymous Good luck....
@Anonymous - not sure where you may have read it, but keep in mind that profiles can vary among individuals and while someone can have a little more success with Bloomingdale's CLIs (store or AmEx version), that's not always representative for everyone. There's different criteria taken into consideration vs Macy's even though DSNB is the same parent lender for both.

I will 2nd @FinStar repsonse. It is very much a YMMV sort of thing. I was approved for Macys and Bloomies same day 12/1/16, both for $500 each. By 8/1/17, both CC's were at $25K each, which is where they currently sit. (I'm holding out for the Amex upgrades on them, lol). I also had many CC's in good standing, and decent scores post BK at the time.
It depends a lot on your profile....what are your scores currently? Do you have any negatives? If so, what are they? My advice right now is to sit tight, and dont ask for anymore CLI's for 3 months, and use and pay the card, even for small purchases...(socks if needed).
What does your denial letter say is the reason for not getting to CLI?
