Need Help Searching for Store/Credit Card

Need help in search of a credit cards or store cards I may use to apply for credit. I've been an authorized user for a little over a year now on my moms Wal-Mart credit card. I have no actual previous credit history of my own. So I'm wondering which banks or stores accept credit applications by score only and not by previous credit experience/history developed already. If there is a list available or sticky please redirect me

I've tried Staples and was approved for $1200 SCL. I also tried and got approved for a CapOne at $3K SCL but that was from a pre-approval offer by mail.

T-697 EQ-745 EX-No score (IDK why)

Based on the information you provided, it appears you're already to a decent start with the recent Capital One and Staples CC approvals.

How recent are these 2 accounts? Where are you obtaining the scores from?

Just keep in mind that overall credit history is a major element that most CC lenders will evaluate when making a lending decision, scores alone will not be the only criteria.

Re: Need Help Searching for Store/Credit Card

Hey,

I believe that the Amazon Store Credit Card could be a good addition to your wallet if you shop a lot at Amazon BUT, in general, store credit cards are not as “valuable” as regular credit cards, I mean, sometimes the rewards are better if you use a regular credit card. Store credit cards are, in general, super easy to get approved for as they want you to be loyal to that store and also, they want you to use that card! They are easier to get but harder to use, I mean, it could definitely be a sock drawer card but I only know if it’s worth a hard pull for a card that I can only use in one store (unless you shop a lot a that store). If you seem to have a pretty good start so I’d say, try to get a regular credit card and you should be fine. Try some of the chases starter pack (lol) suck as the freedom and the freedom unlimited so you can start to build a relationship with Chase or even maybe an Amex everyday card.

They both were recently opened. I originally obtained scores thru Credit Karma and Experian (how I found out I had no score).

Maybe next month I'll aim for Chase CC but I will definitely do Amazon.

I'd let these age a bit - Cap1 at least 6mo to 1yr of good payment history will get you further along. My Cap1 started at $300. At nearly the year mark they auto rasied it to $3,500. So good luck with yours. Seems like you're off to a good start.
