All you can do is try I suppose. Call back and talk to different rep maybe even ask for a supervisor. If you can get the card, I can't see them snatching it back later. Maybe the girl you just spoke to didn't know what she was talking about. It happens. Or maybe the person you first talked to didn't know what they were talking about. But Irish just said limited members can't get cards. So IDK sorry.

the woman on the phone put me on hold for 20 min and then came on the phone, started mumbling over and over and sounded like she had no idea what she was talking about. at one point she said i could apply right now but i was scared too. then she took it back. im gonna call them back and see if the'l take the app

Irish is saying they won't take it. Whomever told you that was mistaken. Limited members aren't eligible for any of their credit cards. I'm very sorry. Smiley Sad

I have been trying to give you an answer.  If you're not eligible for full membership in USAA, then you can't get one of their credit cards.  Even if a misinformed rep takes your application, it will eventually be rejected.  I understand wanting to get one of their cards.  It is a great company but sadly they are very restrictive who can join.  I didn't read thru this whole thread so I don't know your entire situation but if you can be approved for a USAA credit card (assuming you were eligible) then there are other options out there as USAA is very conservative in their credit department

As much as I like USAA, try not to be too disappointed.  USAA is not known for their credit products but for their insurance offerings.  There really are better options out there for credit cards.  Look around at the various credit unions.  A lot of very good ones have backdoor membership and offer great cards with limits that tend to be higher than regular banks.

Re: Need advice on app spree

damn this really puts a wrench in my plans cause most of the cards im applying for i have unpaid charge offs from 8-9 years ago. barclays, citi, and usaa are the only cards that i dont have unpaid charge offs with so i was banking on getting those 3 incase things went wrong with the rest. i think its a good sign though that ive been getting preselected offers in the mail from discover, chase, and bofa which i have unpaid charge offs with. baller do you think that means im off there blacklists because of the offers?

Re: Need advice on app spree

If you have actual pre-selected offers with exact apr being offered and not a range, I would say that's a good sign.
