I want to open up two new AMEX's Gold Card and Delta Skymiles and I'm a current AMEX member since 2011 and a FICO of 785 only thing is that my other three card my total CL is 27k with one being a business card with a 17k CL. I was think of reducing the CL on the business card down so that when I apply for the new cards it keeps me under the 30k CL for the personal Delta card. I know that the Gold card would be fine. I don't want to get to the point I risk a FR. Would it also be a SP too. Thanks!
In my opinion, you're overthinking things. If I was you, I would leave your CLs where they are and just apply, especially if your income supports the limits.
I'm way over $30k in combined limits with AMEX and haven't had any FR issues. The AMEX FR seems to be way too much of a concern around here. In reality, for most, it shouldn't be a concern at all.
I say go for it, I do not think your business line has anything to do with your personal lines of credit with them. Have you been in good terms with them all of these years? Go for it. I have well over $30,000 as well as my husband and we have had zero issues.
