I was wondering the same thing as arn0822. What are the odds of me being approved for a CLOC from NFCU, and should I apply for it or the credit card first? I just opened my own checking and savings accounts using my husband a( a govt. employee and a vet) as a sponsor. My credit profile is 731 TU, 687 EX, 665 EQ with one charge off from 2012. I also have a paid medical collection that is reporting as paid and no public records. I do have 10 inquiries on my TU and 12 on my EQ as I went on a spree this past summer to build my credit. Will it hurt my chances that I am a new member? Also, does anyone know if opening account balances affect odds for approval?
Thanks in advance for any information, experiences and/or guidance.
Thanks for your response. By opening balance, I mean that I opened a $100 checking account and a $100 savings account with them upon becoming a member. I didn't want to place a large amount in the accounts right off the bat since this is not my primary bank.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Same as above. I opened with like $50. I was approved for a Cash Rewards card and a CLOC for 15K. Your scores are way better than mine!

i just opened an account with NFCU, got a CLOC for 5k and a credit card with 3100 limit right off the bat.
the CLOC they asked me to provide my income information and bank statements then approved. said no increase on the CLOC for at least 6 months for some reason...
my scores are 647 ex 634 tu 635 eq
Moving this to Applications.
Thanks for putting my post in the right place. After I posted it I wondered if it should be under another category, but did not know how to switch it.
