Nfcu best to go for new card or cli first?

I have one card ive had for a little over a year. I want to apply for a cli (its at 2k)

I would love to have a second card as well.

Would applyibg for one before the other benefit me somehow? If so, which way is best? Cli first or new card first?

Re: Nfcu best to go for new card or cli first?

If you apply for a new card first, there's a good chance they'll decline the CLI because of hitting their maximum unsecured limit.

What you should do is request your CLI (up to 3X your current limit), wait for the approval, and then apply for the second card.

I got a CLI on my 9 month old card, waited a few weeks and apped for my second card, and then that same day apped for the 6% apr pandemic loan. I got everything I asked for. Smiley Happy

Re: Nfcu best to go for new card or cli first?

I went for a new card every time first before the CLI. And for me it was fantastic results as per my signature. But it maybe ymmv for each profile.

I appd for the go rewards card first then the more rewards card next then appd for CLI on go rewards which resulted in a 3X CLI from initial SL of 1K to 3K and more rewards SL of 25K.

Finally I appd for flagship card with 23,900 SL and a CLI on more rewards card of 8K from 25K to 33K. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Good luck with your journey 👍.

Always recommend a new card first.  Then a CLI.
