Nfcu

So I got in with nfcu. Only started the basic membership savings. How active do you need to be with them to qualify for a card?

Re: Nfcu

You can apply for a card same day. I did my card app on the same call as my membership and I only opened the basic savings with the $5 on that call.

Not very. Navy cares more about your dti, income, and your internal score with them.

Yes I did. Denied. I will try again in 3/4 months but just wondered was there anything I needed to do in the meantime to make myself more attractive to them.

You should be getting a letter in the mail citing the reasons for denial. If you care to share those data points, the community can give you some feedback.

Re: Nfcu

The ATM card came today. I expect the AA letter should follow soon. TU was 645 @ pull. I'm fairly sure it's my CU. Was 68% now 57%. On TU only 1 collection that's several years old. I will pay it soon just to be rid of it, even though I do not really owe it. AAoA is over 5 years. Oldest acct is 13years. Last late 2+ years ago. Was just hoping for a little Navy love. Guess I'll just have to be patient. 🙄

If you are going to pay for that collection, you better get it in writing that they will remove it from the bureau(s) before you pay it down.

Yes indeed! I'm actually going to see if OC will recall and agree to delete. It's a cable company.

68% utilization? Seems to be a touch high. Best to dress up your report a little before applying. If you're able, prime would be under 8.9 % aggregate and individual utilization.
