As I said there is nothing that really should spook anybody but I will call that number and report back. Was I irresponsible many years ago, oh yeah, but that should be not a factor since it is long gone of any report and 10 years of toeing the line should be more than enough even for Chase. Wonder if I am too little of a possible profit for them? On my current CU credit Card, I paid not one cent in interest but already made $1600+ in cashback. But let me call that number and find out.
By any chance you had negative experience(s) with Chase or any Lenders that they acquireed during that time? Chase is known to have long long memories.
Never dealt with Chase. Had a business account with Washington Mutual almost 18 years ago that had a few hiccups but nothing terrible. Chase took over WAMU after they declared Chapter 11. I had no credit card or anything. So yeah, if they still want to hold that over my head, say it and I take my business where it is wanted. No, my biggest issues were with US Bank and Bank of America. Yeah, will never apply for their stuff even if they would approve me. Total crooks these two banks.

@Crowhelm wrote:So I applied for this card last weekend. They pulled Experian, 792 fico score, and no instant approval?? The first question, does that eliminate my $150 gift card? I hope not. Furthermore, since when does a 792 score not warrant instant approval? The only "negative" on my credit file is the length of accounts. We moved recently and sold and bought a new house. Obviously, that started a new mortgage. Duh, that should never be held against me in the first place. We got 2.5% on our 30-year mortgage. Does that sound like somebody who is a credit risk to you? However the 792 takes that into account anyway, in fact, I should be 830 if not 850 with 10 years of perfect payment, credit utilization if it wasn't for the length of accounts, or maybe because most are with a credit union is the problem? And yeah, I only have one credit card with my credit union that gives me 1.5% cashback on everything. So until I saw this one I didn't see the need for another card. But 5% off Amazon purchases, which I do a lot is very nice.
Its way to soon to speculate why you did not get an instant decision from Chase but a few possibilities stand out:
1. Its the weekend and bankers don't work weekends. Most likely your application was flagged for a manual review and that only takes place during regular business hours.
Well, I applied on the 5th, so we are talking a week ago and counting.
2. Why would your application be flagged? Do you really only have one credit card? If so, your revolving credit history is very thin and the bank needs to manually review the application for this reason.
Yeah, why have tons of credit cards? Only time it makes sense to get a different one is if the offer is better. And 5% on Amazon is better than my 1.5% on everything.
3. You also stated that you recently moved. Did you change your address on your official ID (driver's license or ID card) issued by your state's DMV? The address on your credit report does not count for much with lenders, so self-reporting an address change to the credit bureaus has little to no impact. What really matters is whether the lender can verify your stated address against third-party consumer reporting databases. Your address on your credit reports will be compared to consumer databases like CoreLogic and LexisNexis and if it does not match those, or similar, databases your application would be separated for further examination.
It is important to update your current address with the DMV since they require both proof of identity and proof of residence like a utility bill, mortgage statement, etc. The DMV also provides (most of them sell the information) to the consumer reporting agencies, so until the new address is given to them and it is propogated through the third-party databases you're likely to encounter problems. That's the primary reason why lenders ask if you've moved the the preceding 6 months; your address might not have been updated in the verification databases they use.
Move was last August, so not as recent as some people think. And yes everything got done with the DMV last year.
4. Your credit score does not automatically give you the key to any lender. A credit score is simply a prediction of the chances of an individual incurring a major derogatory ( 90-day late payment, charge-off, collection, etc.) within the next 24 months. Just as important is your existing revolving payment history and the entirety of your credit file.
My revolving credit history is as stellar as it can be. I made $1600+ cashback in the last year and a half with my credit card. So you figure it out how much I used credit and faithfully paid it all off without a cent of interest incurred. I don't need a credit card, but this world seems to think it is important so I use it especially when I can earn cashback with it.
Alright, this is getting better and better and I am getting more and more upset that I even have to go through all this garbage. I mean if you rather have people apply via the phone so you can verify everything right away just say so.
Anyway, I got USPS informed delivery. And yesterday it shows that I have a letter from Chase coming to my mailbox. Well, the problem is when I checked the mail that night after work, everything was there but the Chase letter. Checked again tonight and nothing. So it either got delivered incorrectly or stolen.
So now what? I don't have an hour or more to sit on a phone trying to find out what they want.
Calling the phone numbers people suggested gives me only that there is no information available at this time. Would it say I was declined if the letter was a decline?
I would assume so, so the letter most likely was, hey we need more info.
Thoughts?
I would love the card and I most definitely deserve it with my clean record for the last 10 years, but I am used to way better customer service and much faster response times.

I've had several letters say they were supposed to be delivered one day on Informed Delivery and show up a day or two late. If it is more than a day or two late, there is a reporting option on the website that is super easy.

Well, if there is one thing I can complain about moving to Montana it is the Postal service here. We already had an insurance refund check letter and several other not-so-important mails go missing. And we get stuff from the neighbors all the time as well. But we will just bring it over to them but we heard not all people will do that. And yeah I know about the button to tell them you didn't get it but never got any responses, ever.
Greetings Crowhelm ~ Welcome to the forum . . . This is an absolutely long thread and I haven't read every single posting so I will only respond to your most recent posting.
I provided USPS customer service's E-mail in my screen print . . . you can E-mail CS directly or complete the Informed Delivery form and the notice goes directly to your local Post Office. Most people don't know but it's actually against the law for anyone other than a Postal Carrier to deliver the mail . . . on the few instances when we received something that didn't belong to us, we placed it back in the mail box or took it to the station. If you are having that many issues, I would recommend that you contact your Postmaster or E-mail Corporate and you will get a response. Not to make excuses for USPS or your carrier -but- on average, the Postal Service processes and delivers 173.1 million pieces of First Class Mail each day. I hope your delivery service improves.

I can sympathasize with you. Rural USPS mail delivery is a nightmare and its growing more so every day. Many are paid contractors who couldnt care less if you get your mail or not. I too get mail that belongs to my neighbors all the time, things that never arrive (packages). I am in Michigan for reference purposes.
Hopefully you will get your letter over the next few days and this can be resolved for you.
OP ~ Just when I started to brag on my hubby and his peers . . . here's our delivery notice today: 6/18/2021. . . Who damaged the mailman's mail.
I never understand why we use contractors, they never seem to give decent service
