My gf has a higher CS than I (upper 600's), and was denied best buy store card.
Seems like I seldom here of people getting approved for CITI store cards.
They must be pickier with credit than comenity or sync
What was the reason for denial? Looking into the problem will give you some direction on what to fix so that next time you may be approved.
CBNA store cards are a bit different than regular Citi cards and they are certainly YMMV. I've not had luck with CBNA over the years. Shell card opened 2002 @ $500, CLI to $2025 after taking a convenience check offer that year where it stayed until I closed it 14 years later. NTB card opened 2009 @ $1000 where it stayed until I also closed it last year. Home Depot card opened @ $1250 in 2011, took 8-10 HPs over the years and they would never increase it even though I used it constantly as much as the tiny line would allow (closed it the day after I got a Lowe's with a $17k starting line last year). Meanwhile, I opened an actual Citi card last year with a starting line in the $5000s. My wife on the other hand had no problem getting a CLI from $2k to $10k on her 20 year-old Best Buy card (which was a CapOne card until about 4 years ago).
Has your gf been approved for other CITI cards recently?. Citi is pretty stingy when it comes to inquiries
