Nordstrom Arrived. CLI?

I got a $2500 Nordstrom card in December... it actually was the beginning of my 4/4 instant approval app spree.

The VISA upgrade is pretty easy to get after 6 months or so based on what I've read here.

I got mine in August 2014 ($2500) and called for a CLI today. The rep asked me for income and then said my account could not receive an increase because it is less than 7 mos. old and that I would need to call back in 4 mos. 

So my question is... if the reason I couldn't qualify for a CLI is age of the account, should I still wait the 4 mos to call again or call again when I hit the 7 month age mark?

My FIRST post!!! Yay...but about the Nordstrom card. I have been religiously reviewing the MyFico boards. with that in mind I did the complete opposite and applied for this Nordstrom card even though I was a hundred percent certain it would get denied. my situation is this, scores range from 527 to 589. I have a student loan that was in the default and only recently realigned with just one payment made. I have several derogatory accounts and a medical bill I wasn't aware of for $134 which just posted to my credit report in December. I have a foreclosure and 2 repossessed cars all from 2009. one $750 cap1 card I'be had two years and another cap1 card with $500 only 2 weeks. Also a $1500 secured USAA for 2 weeks. Denied for BOA secured, discvover, chase, and citi. don't ask me why but for some reason I have a nagging feeling that I should apply for the Nordstrom card and what do you know APPROVED! I think I might know why. i buy several items from Nordstrom including somewhat expensive purses I order these items online I was logged in when I applied for the card. just my own guess however I'm thinking since they could see my purchase history they know that I'm buying things from them already and the type if items/cost. My suggestion for people trying to get this Nordstrom card would be to first create an account online and develop some type of Purchase History with them making your purchases with another credit card at first. My limit is only $500 to start with but I'm certain that they will work with me to increase this soo. For now I couldn't be happier with all the changes I've made in the past month regarding increasing my credit line to help my utilization. sorry to hear you were declined but best of luck going forward

They do want 7 months of activity and payments on the card first, I can confirm that. But there are always exceptions.

For better results, just use and abuse the card for 7 months and you might get a more favorable CLI then

I'm not even going to bother until 7 months. I think they're conservative. I want to ask for $5k and upgrade to Visa but the worst they will say is no I suppose. I still have to wait until July.

I read a story of someone here who got his Nordstrom card increased before 7 months even though they had stressed to that person on the phone that it's usually best to wait that long before requesting. I might try earlier than July to see what happens. I really do like this card a lot and it's one of the ones I kept open. I've put about $400-$500 of spend on it total thus far.

Mine went $1k to $2500 before month 2 automatically but then they told me I needed to wait 7 months for next increase and possible upgrade but not everytime I try they say no and site an old nordstrom account that was in my bk... I'm glad they let me back in and then gave me a cli but seems odd that it wasn't until after my first cli that they now are finding this old account.
