Not getting the Discover LUV anymore

I got 2 CLI with discover doing the 17 day wait. But, now I get the message 3-5 day letter.

Nothing haschanged in my report. If anything I have paid down my debt. When I got the CLI's

I had about a 30% uti, I am a little less than that now. No new accounts. I don't get it.

I am happy with my CL with them. It is $6700. So, I am ok with that.

Re: Not getting the Discover LUV anymore

Massive thread over in Approvals on it, appears Discover changed their policies a few days ago and things came to a screeching halt.

I'm not looking towards getting a Discover card (nor was I ever) but I am deeply saddened by this news. It made so many people happy. Smiley Sad

Glad I didn't try to get on the discover bandwagon just for 17 day increases, by time I was eligable the well would of been dried up..  Glad the long time discover holders finally got some decent limits though!

That sucks! I never got in on the Discover train. My account was too new.

Is Discover generally strict with their limits? How would you say they fair in comparison with Chase?

usually pretty frugal on the initial SL's in the past for the most part, although they have been more giving..  A person might get approved for say a 1800 SL with discover and a 10k SL with Chase for instance..  Granted Discover is more likely to grow with you in time than a chase CL..  This is in the past as Discover has been more generous recently with SL that appear to have been upped from recent approval thread to the 4-6k range.  I just woulnd't want to apply myself and get a 2k approval and be stuck there when my other card are > 5k and some are in the 10-20k+ range.

Thank you for your response. That is a very big difference in SL...however, if it grows anywhere near as fast as Amex does in 2 years that doesn't mean all that much of a difference.

It doesn't grow anywhere near as fast as AMEX until recently, but that seem to come to a hault by this post and one in approval thread. If you use to request CL's increase if they weren't soft typical one was 500 dollars with discover..  They do give more SP CLI than Chase though..  So gotta weigh your options, but Discover isn't known as being as giving as other lenders initially, but as stated that trend appears to be changing just from what I have seen on sample sizes/posts recently.
