So I went to pay my auto insurrance with my new Amex BCE, and found out they don't accept Amex. :/ Is there a card I could apply for and be accepted relatively easily? I've been accepted for 5 CCs in the past year, although one i closed after a month after determining I wouldn't use it. My credit scores may be a little lower than advertised in my sig due to 2 inquiries in the past 2 weeks. Just want to pay my car insurance all at once, OH! it has to be a 0% APR intro card for at least 6 months. Should be able to pay it off in 3, but the extra cushion would be nice.
Well there are many cards with a 0% promo that is at least 6 mos. as for the ease part, considering you have 2 inquiries in the past 2 weeks. Which bureau(s) were those on?
Because you can kinda play the system in a way by knowing who pulls what to avoid denials due to Inquiries.
Barclays will do TU so if you want a MC they have a few but i don't think they do the promo APR
Citi can be INQ sensitive but they will pull any bureau in my experience, they have a few MC/Visa that offer 12-21 mos 0%
Chase Visa and they IME will pull any bureau also but offer 15 mos with Freedom or 22 mos? With Slate
Discover 18 mos - IME they pull EQ but are known for TU also
Capital One Venture/Quicksilver Visa is offering 6 mos 0% if i am not mistaken and is pretty easy to be approved for but pulls 2 or all 3 bureaus at times. So its best to apply for both currently it seems to get the most for your inquiries from them.
BOA has their BankAmericard which offers 0% APR for 15 mos, has no rewards is a Visa but i am not sure whom they pull
Those are few lenders i am sure others will chime in, but it might help knowing what you currently have and more of your profile.
Thanks for the response, Skye, but I changed my mind. I'm just going to wait for my Barclay card to come in the mail, then use that to pay my auto insurance monthly. I'll have to pay the $3 service charge each month for each payment, but i figure building my credit is a fair trade off.
Changed my mind again. Applied for and was approved for the Cap One Quicksilver. No AF and 0% APR til next march. 3k CL. Last app for a while, promise.

Congrats on the approval!
