Offer for Amex after bk?

I just got an offer on my linked in mail to apply for Amex travels card. I just got discharged from bk in August, should I apply?

Is it a pre-approval offer? If not, it's marketing...

Sounds like marketing. There is no way Amex approves just a few months post discharge. I would not apply.

Ya it sounds like marketing, but it has a pre-approved link on it. Very weird. I called Amex Number and asked. They stated same thing as here on forum that you will not be approved for Amex while BK is still showing on credit report. So I am definitely not clicking the link, for all I know it could be spam/fishing

You can be approved with a BK showing, but it has to be OLD...

The fact it came on your LinkedIn email is kinda sketchy. I have never heard of an Amex Travels card either. Amex obviously sends marketing offers but this one seems odd especially since you have a fresh BK discharge. I'd certainly pass. Five years from discharge is usually the magic number for approval with a BK, but of course YMMV.

I was able to get the AmEx Every Day after 13 months of my discharge.  Not able to get a CLI as long as the BK still shows on my reports.

Hi Oldman425. Can you give a little info on your BK? Was it BK7 or BK13? I assume AmEx was not included in the BK, correct? When was your approval?

I don't think I would apply. I constantly receive email offers for the AmEx Delta Gold. I have the itchy fingers and want to apply, but don't believe it is a true approval, rather advertising. I am 2 years 8 months post filing date. But, I never pull the trigger because I don't think it has been long enough yet. 

But, based on Oldman's results maybe I'm wrong.
