Unless it's auto CLI, NFCU will go inq happy on you. I had 4 from them between EQ and TU because I asked to recon the CL. But the end result was a great CL.

That's my goal, to get both my Flagship & cashRewards to 10K each. I'm happy with 5K though, no complaints here.
You will be there before you know it!!!!

This is an awesome thread!
Opened savings 1/22/2013. App'd for cash rewards somewhere between 1/22 and 1/31. Approved with $500 limit. (Should've recon'd this) I want to hit the luv button but I'm soooo nervous! I'm right at 3 months so I may wait a bit.
Almost 700 Fico... Has it changed a lot over 3 months? Why only $500 then?
Opened my NFCU Platinum in August of 2011.
August 2011 - Initial limit of 20k
December 2011 - Hit luv button for increase to 25k (instant)
April 2012 - Hit luv button for 30k, approved for $27.5k (3-5day msg, hard pull)
August 2012 - Hit luv button for 30k, approved for 30k (3-5day msg, hard pull)
December 2012 - Hit luv button for 40k, approved for 33k (3-5day msg, hard pull)
April 2013 - Hit luv Button for 40k, approved for 40k (3-day msg, hard pull?)

Creditaddict, the only thing that I could think of was my recent BK discharge. My score was 682 at the time of my app and it had been holding steady in that range for quite some time. They didn't force me to do the secured route which I notice people with a fresh discharge usually have to do. I had a secured card with another bank that I maintained for 18 months prior (never late, PIF), so maybe they were going out on a limb--just not all the way.
Edited to say, this was also the first unsecured card I app'd for.
Now it's time to hit them hard! GO CLI! I would almost bet it's going to cost you HP but would be WAY worth it! Yours scores get others more than $20k with Navy, I understand the BK but still.... you are building history now... time to get you up in triple digits AT LEAST. ask for $10k-$15k

Now see you are starting to confirm my theory that the computer wants all apps and requests over $25k to be reviewed... my partners was approved in 2 days but was HP and manual for $25k-$35k... would have been better off just applying for a 2nd card had we known a head of time!
anyone else with experience over the $25k mark?
I'm about to join and wasn't sure which card to app for. Is there a specific one you guys like best, or one that offers a higher starting CL than others? Should I join and apply for a card the same day, or wait?
Also, do you know how much income ties into the credit limits vs. your actual FICO? I'm back in school working part time so my income isn't as high as it used to be. Do they do a "verify employment" call to your employer? I do a lot of work from home stuff so I wasn't sure how they look at that if they needed "verification."
I think my scores are ok for being approved for something, but was afraid of my income holding me back.

10K-15K??? Can you hear my heart beating through my chest?!?! That would be such an accomplishment--I just don't want the HP right now. I've also been looking for a mortgage lender and although I haven't found one for my situation, I didn't want any recent HP's if I did. Navy already HP'd me 2x for EQ (savings and CC) and 1x for TU (CC). The posts I've read about the amounts for SP's seem so unpredictable, that's why I've been hesitant to chance it.
