Official NFCU CLI Guide

Been a while since I asked for any CLIs so here we go.  Called yesterday for Flagship $20k to $28k 3-5 message.  Before I got off the phone the rep asked about opening a Navchek in my name (joint on my husbands $11k)  Said sure!  Auto approval $15K.  Logged in this am and  Flagship CLI already showing.  Why didn't I ask on my nRewards?  I dont know but initiated a CLI on the website since I was 2/2.  3-5 day message (man three HP)!!   I just logged back in 10 mins later and the CLI for the nRewards is posted already $10k to $15K!  3/3 all hard though.  But really 10 mins later?  Wish that could've been soft but I am truly ecstatic over the Navy love!!

You shouldve asked for the full 25K they wouldve just countered you. Any thing above 25K is an automatic hardpull BTW.

They just did a second HP on EQ, I am guessing for the CLI. I got an alert from here. Logged in. The CL is still the same.

I am sure my rejection letter is on the way.

How long has it been since youve requested the CLI???

I only opened my nfcu account so that I could get a mortgage through them, but now I am finding out about the cc perks. I am closing on my house in early June, but am planning to app as soon as the ink is dry. I only have a savings account now. Should I open a checking account in anticipation? Does nfcu care whether you use them as your primary?

It could only help you have a better relatiionship with NFCU. I would see no reason not to switch over. Who do you currently use as your primary.

I don't think it matters.  I've had $5 (the minimum) in my share savings since I applied for membership with NFCU.  I don't do any banking with them.

Question:  How long should I wait to ask for a cli?  I've only had the card since March, PIF well before both statements.  Navy did soft me on 4/30, but my utilization was sky high that day.  Just wondering if I can pull the trigger now, or should I wait until I've made 3 or 4 statements?

After reading this thread I got the ich to app again for cli. asked for $20k from $15 and got 3-5 day message. 10 mins later seen my limit was $25K!!! So i asked for $20k on crewards and got it instantly. Also appd for cli from $5k to $10k on navcheck, but got credit decision usually made in an hour, so we will see.
