I'm glad this forum came to my attention! I now have a combined credit limit of $15,000 between my two credit cards with Navy Federal which both were approved instanty with a counter offer (soft pull). I had $1500 limits on both cards, and requested $10,000 for both.
I waited 11 months for my first CLI request for my 1st NFCU credit card.
I waited 3 months for my first CLI request for my 2nd NFCU credit card.
Now I will wait another 3 months to request another CLI, and will post and keep everyone updated.
Okay, so after recently joining NFCU in October, I applied for Flagship Sig Visa and was approved $5K. Also approved for Navcheck $15K. Honestly was baffled how easy and fortunate I was with this credit union already being a new member of only one day and signing up online! BUT ... LIKE SO MANY OTHERS...I WAS HOPING TO SEE THAT BIG GENEROUS LIMIT ON CC THAT EVERYONE POSTS ABOUT. So after obsessively reading all 60 pages of this forum last night not once but TWICE, I grabbed a whiskey and tonic and began sending a secure message for CLI on Flagship card. Then the waiting game began with me logging into the message center every hour today and finally...

Subject: Reconsideration of Credit Limit
Navy Federal Response 10/17/2013 : Thank you for your message. After careful review of your account and the documents you have provided, we have increased your credit limit to $17,500.00, effective immediately. We did not pull another credit bureau report in this process. Should you need additional assistance, please let us know.
Your Message 10/16/2013 : Hello,
I want to begin by thanking you for welcoming me warmly to Navy Federal Credit Union and I'm regretful that it took me so long to join the family. After nearly 7 years of employment with the Department of Defense, I recently became a member of NFCU and applied for the Visa Signature Flagship Rewards. I'm delighted that I've been approved but am hoping my credit line can be reconsidered as I eagerly try to stay within 20% or less utilization on my credit cards and submitted a balance transfer request from my Wells Fargo Platinum Visa at the time of my application which has now seriously limited my ability to use this card towards earning the wonderful bonus points towards airfare within 3 months without impacting my overall utilization. I am hoping that by enclosing supporting income/bank statement documentation, that my credit limit may be raised to atleast $10,000 without requiring an additional hard pull from my credit reports. I have currently banked with Wells Fargo for the past 9 years and although I am considered a VIP customer of theirs, I am ready to make NFCU my primary partner in banking/credit relationship going forward. I have heard nothing but positive comments in regards to NFCU and am excited to build a long lasting relationship. Thank you kindly for your consideration.Wow!!!! I am so in love with NFCU..... Now my highest credit limit by almost double Wells Fargo $9K limit. Trying to refrain from doing the Gangman style dance...........
Another Satisfied Member gettting CLI with no HP...

You'll be doing the horsey dance in style with a limit like that! Super nice recon.
Video the dance and post it on youtube and it can be the official NFCU dance lol
I've been lurking in the shadows reading posts from everyone else. Finally got the courage to hit the love button. Actually I tried it over the weekend and received a technical error prompt and freaked out but calmed down once I read a different post on it.
I did a product change last month (dumb ol me) missing the 60K points on the new special offer for the flagship, but didn't like constantly paying FT fees on my N rewards. Should have kept it open for the extra TL and simply app for a new card. Hindsight is 2020. For back ground info, I started on a secured card 1K (March 2013) and 2 months later asked for 10K which was approved with a HP.
1. Clicked the luv button and went from 10K (asked for 40K) on my Flagship and received a counter for 22K and took it (instant increase of 12K). Hoping this is a SP as everyone states in previous entries.
2. Also went in since I was pumped up on this prior success and appd for a NAVcheck LOC for 15K. Instant appv. (Hasn't shown up on my acct yet but it did give me a conf # and said I'll be receiving the docs via mail).
All in all a good night~.

Just an FYI.....
Spoke with a loan officer today about a car refi( they denied me last week).
They pull TU for loans and refi, and also as long as a bankruptcy still shows on the credit report, it's an automatic denial just for that reason!! I asked the loan officer that since my bk was in may of this year, it will be on reports till 2023, does that mean I can never have a personal loan, car loan, or car refi with you for the next 10 years when it's off my reports??? Her answer."... I'm sorry, yes. That's Navy's policy. "I'm sooo bummed!!!! So there goes Any loans! I told her I have a a CC with them, and she said that the CC and loan departments are separate, and they both have very different lending practices and guidelines.
She also told me that yes they do pull TU for all personal loans and auto loans, and that you have to be higher than their lowest tier group, which she wouldn't tell me scores in that "lowest tier group". So, I guess having a CC with them is better than nothing, and hopefully ill get increases on it.
THAT PERSON YOU SPOKE TO WAS STUPID IN ALL CAPS!
Not only does Navy not always pull TU because I have applied for Navcheck and auto in the last month and credit card and they pulled EQ 3 times but BK is SO NOT a decline with navy... are you kidding me... what rock did this person come from... WOW IM ANGRY just reading this... I can't believe it... I would want to know who that person is and I would want that call pulled and I would want this person taken through training again... that is about as peggy as old capital one.
can I say it again Suze Orman style "ARE YOU KIDDING ME"
