@Anonymous wrote:Well, I finally applied for NFCU and was approvaed and got the NavCredit for 5k (thats all I asked for was worried due to high Utilitization and low score).
It wasn't in my offers, but I applied for one of the cc's and was denied. They said I didn't meet their credit requirements so I sent them a recon email, I recieved this back:
"Thank you for your message. As a financial institution we must adhere to strict lending guidelines in order to ensure fair lending decisions for our entire membership. @Thoughts? guess I should be happy with the CLOC @ 5K and leave well enough alone..?
wait a month with the loc reporting and then reapply for credit card... that's just shocking!
I was approved for 3500 credit card but denied the line of credit. I've noticed they are doing alot of declining here lately. (My entire family is with NavyFed)
My daughter was approved for a 23k credit card and applied for another and they denied her for excessive credit obligations (primary reason) (she only had 5% utilization) and too many new inquiries (funny because all of the inquiries are from Navy Federal the irony lol)
Thanks yall, will sit on this for a bit and reapply in a few months.
When is the next SP? Tomorrow right?
Anything today?
So I have looked over the credit line increase information and here is my awesome results!
Wife and I both have seperate Navy Federal Accounts
Opened up with them about 9 months ago, each of us picked up $500 secured nRewards Visa's...ran $400-500 through them each total, then havn't touched them since.
I applied for a Go Rewards about 6 months ago(scores in the middle 600's. Approved for $12,700. Applied for $15k CLOC at same time, approved for entire amount.
At same time, I had my wife apply for the same two cards above, declined for both. She still had two unpaid collections(I had no unpaid collections)
A week ago decided to give it a go with my wife's and she applied again for both the CLOC and a Go rewards. She was approved for $22,700 on the Go Rewards, and approved for the full $15k CLOC! They did ask for tax returns(around $200k income combined).
Since she got $22,700 and I only had $12,700 but I had no outstanding collections, decided to ask for credit line increase. Asked for $25k, Got $25k!
I noticed at the same time that they graduated my 1 year old nRewards to an unsecure card and put the $500 back into my savings account, and had raised my limit to a woppping $1,000. I asked via secure messaging how to get this higher, as I can't do anything with a $1k limit. They told me to request credit line increase on the website. I did and at the same time I replied back with a copy of my tax return(figuring they might want this as I requested a $50k limit. They didn't give me $50k, but within 2 hours had a reply and my new line on that $1k unsecured card is now $15k!!
So, in about a week, between my wife and I, got increases on our credit lines for a total of $15,000+22,700+14,000+12,300= $64,000 additional lines! I love NFCU!
Next step is to wait fo rmy wife's nRewards to graduate(should graduate next month) and ask for a $25k limit, see what they come back with
