Nope... No messagesHmm. That's interesting.
In any case I'll let it slide. Since they probably did a HP at least I'll get to take a glimps at my 'real' report, for what it's worth.
Assuming it was turned down I'll also be interested to see what reasons the letter will state. It's either an issue with too many new accounts or lack of use on the existing credit line... my score is 40+ points higher than when I was approved last fall, and my overall utilization is lower as well (4%).
All that being said, I'm not 'mad' at them by any means... I'm still very happy with my account, and with NFCU in general.
Update: I checked my account today (Tuesday) and my credit line is now $20k. I'm a happy camper!
They must have read my mind... had I not used the 'maximum' button $20k is actually what I would have entered, since that's the limit on my Sam's MC and Lowe's (that seems like the 'sweet spot' for credit limits for me - any more would be redundant).
I know it was likely a HP, but going from $15.3k to $20k was worth it to me (especially since I'll never have to bother with a CLI again... seriously.)
Thanks again to CA for the assist!
Congrats Uncle B!
So I jumped the gun a little and app'd for a CLI on my NFCU cash rewards card. I has an abysmal limit compared to my other cards like Penfed - 21K, USAA - 24K split between two cards and then navyfed at a whopping $3500.
I got approved for the card mid-june and applied for a CLI last week. The only reason for denial was "account too new" no other reasons listed. -> any idea how much longer I should wait before going after a CLI again?
Ironically my CLOC is $10K which is what I asked for (and $2K was used) when i asked for a credit card CLI.
6/19 I app for Cli on go rewards. Had 6k limit and requested 15k. Countered at 9k. Had EQ 639, EX 641, TU 637. Today, I app for 25k Clli and got the wait message with EQ 746, EX 726, TU 711. Also just closed on home yesterday. Luckily we didn't have to pay closing costs. Want to add the money I had set aside for closing to my emergency fund. Need to buy some things for the new house but I'm paranoid about increasing my DTI. Was at 80%+ back in June. Now I'm right around 28%. Did a lot of work in past month and a half to get scores to jump. Keeping fingers crossed.
So I just did a request on my Flagship Rewards card for 25k and it was an instant approval. However, now I'm concerned that I left money on the table by not selecting the "Maximum" button that I don't believe was there last time. Do I need to wait another three months to ask again? I'd like to avoid a HP if possible as I'm still waiting for a Card Spree from about 1 1/2 years ago to fall off my report.
On a different note, I just sent a message asking for an APR review as my APR on this card is ridiculously higher than I would like it to be and it keeps me from using it as often. Is this something they do? I bank with NFCU and do a lot of business with them if it matters.
