WOOHOO!!! Doing the Happy Happy Dance Here!
Thanks to this forum I got my approval for $25,000 today!
Had a BK in 2008 (thanks recession), in 2015 I was declined for a NF CC but did get a secured card. I started with $1500.00 @ 14%. Then over the next year I increased the secured limit to $4000.00. I charged it to the limit almost every month. Then paid $2-3,000 on it carrying about a $1000.00 balance.
In July it was my year annivesary with NF and I was anxiously awaiting the return of my $4000.00
I called in early September asking why I hadn't seen any return of funds & was told they review it every month & just keep balance low...blah,blah,blah. Well on September 25th I saw on the NF app that I had $4,000+ in my savings account. Yeah me! They did their regularly scheduled quarterly review and released my funds and my card became unsecured. Based on what others had written I knew the best time to act & click the credit limit, CL, button would be right after the quarterly review. So, I waited 10 days and worked up the courage to hit the button today & voila - $25,000 instantaniously!
Now, I will wait till the 16th, when NF reports & see what happens to my scores. Currently, with Credit Karma, TU is 612 & Efax is 705.
Oh the day I came out of BK I bought a car at 14% interest. Then in January 2016 I called NF to refinance, did everything over the phone, did not have to provide any docs & refinanced with NF at 4%!!!!!
I LOVE NAVY FEDERAL & this forum!!!
Now, should I apply for a 2nd card???
Capital One can take their 22% interest & stick it lol
Yes, I would apply for a 2nd card now.
I would also consider a couple other cards with other banks if 1 cap1 and 1 navy is all you have.
Barclay is a good option.
Discover FOR SURE!
Hello all
I was wondering... How does the NavCheck or CLOC with NFCU work... I've had it for a while now for 2k and I was wondering at what point does this account ever get increased or does it just stay the same forever???
Creditaddict,
Thanks for the reply. So if I want a higher limit I have to submit a brand new app?
So should I assume it will be a hard inquiry?
I've been waiting for a auto cli, couldn't remember if NFCU did them or not, so I found this thread. Ordered my report today and saw that my AR was 8/30. I just recently applied for a checking line of credit and only got $1000 so I'm thinking maybe a CLI isn't in the cards. I'm in the garden for the next 24 months so I hesitated to risk the hard, but decided to go for it. Original CL was $1700... Increased to $22K!!! Wooooooooooah.
