Hi I am in the process of trying to rebuild my credit. I was surprised to receive a pre-approval when opening a checking account at NFCU. I received a cash rewards card with a CL of $2900. Should I have asked for an increase? I opened the account on 9/30/16 and received the card just this past weekend. EQ score is 622. Solo income is $110K Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Do you recommend I go into a branch to do this? Also, should I even bother asking for CLI even though I just received this card?
Actually never mind. I found the page online, applied and was approved for 15k! Thanks.
Congrats!!!
Thank you again. For the cash rewards card that I just received, should I wait a little before asking for a CLI?
Ok, so tried for a CLI on my Go Rewards and was denied the other day. Requested 25K because that seemed to be what people here suggested, although I'm really just looking for 5 or 6K. Really just need the ability to charge more so I can get max cash back on my wedding reception. I plan on paying it off within 30 days but I use this card as my everyday card so just need a higher limit to fit all of the charges.
Anyways, I was denied due to income. I make good money, monies direct deposited into my bank account every month, etc. but I'm technically self employed and I don't have two years tax returns. I tried sending three months bank statements and statement from parent company and they are saying that isn't good enough. They did a hard pull and my score was 685. I put about 1500-2000 on the card each month and basically pay in full (I'll leave 50-100 bucks so all of my cards don't show 0 balance). My utilization is below 2%. Is there anything I can do or am I just screwed here? I guess I can just use another card and/or apply for a new card, but I really like my NFCU card and would prefer all charges go on there. Thanks
