My account will be a year old in two weeks, and after the last AR I hit the button for the first time ever... got the 24 hour message as well.
I waited it out - it actually took two days - but I ended up with a $4.7k CLI making my new credit line an even $20k (which is what I wanted anyway). While it did take a HP I think it was worth it... it might be worth it as well for you!
Of course I understand if you want to withdraw the request to avoid the HP; I'm just pointing out that it's not always bad news.
