Thanks Aduke! I did call to complain and wanted them to remove the HP and she didn't seem very interested in doing that... she finally said she would take it her supervisor and they would listen to my phone call and he would call me back....never heard back from them. I re-think what I said and I think I screwed up at the beginning of the phone call...I should have said from the beginning I didn't want a HP.....I started out telling him of my first denial and that my scores had gone up and I wanted them to give me a recon...and thats when he said..."hold on a minute and I'll be right back" and I had not finished what I was saying.....he came back a minute later and said I had a 720 score...(which I already knew and had told him)...and then I told him I just wanted them to look at my account first before they hard pulled....he said "your fine", I reiterated did you look at everything because I dont want to get an HP and then get declined because my score wasn't the issue...he said, "don't worry, your fine" that it would take 24 - 48 business hours to process ... I guess not...the rejection letter was post marked at 7:00pm that night...My phone call was at 3:00pm.
Not sure what Im going to do now...I did deposit $200 in the savings account created when I joined and was going to open a checking acct and use it to get some history, but that was before a got a second strike...they may just have somthing against me to get slammed that quick. I have no blems on my CR and decent scores. I wonder if they noted my open derog when I apped the first time (it was still on my CR then..10/04) and they made a note in my file? Since it wasn' ever paid? If thats the case, I may never get approved? I was planning on doing the same thing with Navy...it will be hard to juggle two new checking accounts I don't need....any suggestions? Does that count for anything?
ORKO: Congrats on your CLI!
Wow Orko...nice CLI, congratulations!

Stryder, even thought you said that , I still believe the loan officer misled you into thinking you would be approved now and that's not right , either way I would keep trying to get them to remove the HP but of course if you do eventually want a cc with them it may not be worth it to stir the pot. If you know what I'm saying .
As far as Navu goes ,.if you don't have a need for another checking acct I wouldn't open one , just a savings is good enough for Navy most times . Esp since you have a strong score I don't see why you would need to bring your banking to them too , unless you just wanted to .
Thanks for you ear Aduke....I am concerned that they didn't return my call. The last thing I wanted to do is tick them off and brand me some way. I went back the the New Membership email thread I had with that rep and explained how it didn't go well and I think I made someone mad, and that it wasn't my intention. The woman I spoke with Monday morning, I swear was the one that denied me on the first app in Oct I did..so I think she remembered me and maybe didn't like me reconning? I dunno.
In the email I just sent, I didn't ask her to try and fix things, but rather what should I do now (hoping she might bring it up again anyway..lol)? I would do their secured card, but it doesn't graduate (to my knowledge)....We''ll see...maybe I just need to get my Navy Platinum and give my business to someone that wants it!
Thanks again!
Sorry everyone for getting off-topic...I'll just stick to NFCU topics from here on out...
